If leadership takes over that decides the best thing to do is capitalize on a brand name, the brand will stop being the best. One difference with Ivy leagues is that there is a preference given by those that have graduated from an ivy league school to hire other ivy league grads. This means the school is more important for the status it bestows than the education it gives.
I literally am flabbergasted that Walmart and target still exist. I worked at target for 3 years during college. How the fuck anyone manages to “shop” there weekly blows my mind. You can walk thru that entire store and see everything they have in less than 10 minutes. And it’s all chinese crap. The clothes, the furniture the tools and home/office section, all just absolute shit. Even the electronics section doesn’t carry anything you couldn’t get for half price on amazon.
