We have been doing this while the shutdown is on. I'll say one thing, we suck at this. Thank goodness for teachers. Id hate to see the tesults of our homeschooling over a long period of time. Teachers have a unique gift. The teachers here call the kids and legitimately miss their students.
Teachers teach "their values", along with all the other things taught. If you want others teaching your children values that you don't agree with, well to bad. Time with your children will teach them more than what an indoctrination will give them. Sure, we all need to learn the 3 R's, but other than that Home Schooling is the best option. Not for everyone, but still the best option. When we off load our responsibility to others we shouldn't complain when the kids come home and say things that make your jaw drop.
