I expected as much, so didn't bother. All media, with very few exceptions, is leftist propaganda now.

I just recently watched a video from YouTube/FEE, speaking about the narrative of "it's just business" and how Hollywood repeatedly connected "businessmen" and "business" with "evil" and "bad guys." It's literal indoctrination and I can't say it didn't affect me as well, even if subconsciously. It's little things like this that shift people towards Marxism and to become anti-"capitalist."

I saw it, and it was pretty sympathetic to the Branch Davidians, showed that they had all races as members and was pretty damning of the ATF and FBI

48
TickleMissle 48 points ago +48 / -0

How many times did they use the words "Bill Clinton" or "Janet Reno"? They give you a sliver of truth to gain your trust (ATF/FBI fucking up) so that they can serve you up the lies and narratives. Its one of the medias/hollywoods top tactics. Its a modern whitewashing of one of the most important events in the history of our nation.

5
Corse46 5 points ago +6 / -1

I saw it back when it was on tv (and I thought it was pretty good), so I'm going off memory; I know Reno was mentioned and there was an actor playing her part on the show, and she was on screen. I don't remember exactly how many times they mentioned it. Clinton I can't remember. I definitely don't think, based on what I saw, that the FBI\ATF came out of that show looking very good.

11
colddeadhands 11 points ago +11 / -0

The main FBI officer goes to Janet Reno in a brief scene where he asks for permission to use the tear gas. She says she will ask the President.

So, they make it clear that they both made that final decision. Other than that, the entire show is focused on the ATF/FBI.

5
TickleMissle 5 points ago +5 / -0

They specifically never mention their names though. Its implied who they are. Its also implied they were being misled and had little or nothing to do with the situation (which evidence shows is not true).

2
flyover_deplorable 2 points ago +2 / -0

My wife was 5 years old at the time. I was 13 so I at least remember it happening. I keep injecting, "fucking Clinton or fucking Janet Reno" into it so I know she knows.

The whole operation was run from Washington by Hillary Clinton. Read "Hillary (and Bill) The Murder Volume" by Victor Thorn

67
newchina 67 points ago +67 / -0

They killed 25 CHILDREN! American’s on US soil! It was an unimaginable disgrace no matter how crazy Koresh was. And don’t dismiss that it was a Christian cult because it most certainly was. They showed no credible evidence of any provocation by the branch members. This was a colossal fuck up, and you should be just as concerned of militarized government overreach - on our own soil - as anyone else.

It was REEEEEEtared strategy. Let’s roll up “full on military” on the fucking people paranoid that the government is going to roll up on them “full on military” and shoot the shit out of their church. Competing history says there was no cease fire agreement, that after 45 mins the atf literally ran out of fucking ammo and had to retreat. The atf learned that day you can’t fuck with churches in Texas. Remember the Alamo.

That is so sad. Some years ago, I saw a video tape of David Koresh calling during the siege and asking if they could take care of a guy that was shot near an entry way a few days previous, who was taking a look outside, but shot dead by agents. He was starting to decompose in the Texas heat..

Not going to lie, watching the ATF limp away with their tails between their legs was very satisfying. It sucks that agents died, but you can't say they didn't ask for it.

5
SpaceForceZulu 5 points ago +5 / -0

Fuck those agents, every single one of them deserved to die.

If you saw what leadership was doing, and still participated, you earned the blood on your hands.

1
ColbyP 1 point ago +1 / -0

Hell no it doesn't suck. Every single one of those cops and agents is a murderer and child killer. Every single one. It sucks that more evil men didn't die. The fact that they didn't go home that night and commit suicide in shame when they realized they had burned children alive shows they're not even human. They're fucking monsters.

you should show her the clusterfuck that was Ruby Ridge, most of the Feds there were at Waco as well. resulted in the guys wife being shot dead by a sniper while carrying her baby.

Reno should be arrested and charged with murder for both Ruby and Waco.

Iirc, the same fuck-up (or just evil) sniper was at Waco and Ruby Ridge

1
ThatOrcTsadok 1 point ago +1 / -0

I think he was just a major fuck-up that, coupled with a VERY lax RoE, ended up activating his fuck-up powers.

IIRC, basically they were given the green light for lethal force on anyone in the house.

TFW your GF asks “What’s Waco” but she actually means the TV show not the real event.

16
Poonjazzler1 16 points ago +17 / -1

I watched it this morning and only in the intro where they had the fbi snipe that guy and kill his wife, they were calling them white supremacists or something like that. I don’t know enough about David Koresh to really gauge whether they portrayed him accurately. However, they did accurately portray the FBIs notorious ability to lie and twist the media coverage. Also, I found the correlation of fbi using tear gas and fires disturbing

The series actually starts out with the whole Ruby Ridge clusterfuck, but it’s only the first episode and is how they lay the groundwork for the feds getting a hard-on for Waco.

Despite this series being Netflix and going in expecting it to be slanted a certain way, I thought it was pretty well done. And to your point, I’d really like to see a similar series for Ruby Ridge.

I hate when people say, based on accusations, "Yeah, but Koresh was a child molester." --As if Justice was served by the government killing all the alleged VICTIMS. As long as you kill the child predator, kill as many innocent people as you want. The argument makes ZERO sense.

10
christianknight 10 points ago +10 / -0

Rape, pedophilia, molestation are at the top of the chosen accusations to "leak" into the media before the government kills you.

5
Work2gethrBiglyOrDie 5 points ago +5 / -0

Every one should see Waco. It was surprisingly very fair to the branch dividians, and very sympathetic towards koresh and followers. They made a point showing how horrible the atf and fbi responded. That last episode was hell to watch tho, i have a 4 year old, i can't imagine the hell of what happened to the poor kids. Gassing them, knowing the gas was considered a war crime, but using it on children because of some stupid loophole. Knowing gasmasks couldn't help children, knowing it was flammable, and knowing the children were gathered in the bottom room and gassing them in and collapsing the compound where they couldn't escape. David thibadox has a great youtube video where he's doing a q and a book tour a few years later, great insite. David wasn't a cult member, he was observing everything, knew David wasn't a profit, but he liked the group of people and their way of life. Such a sad story

11
HeavenlyTrumpets 11 points ago +12 / -1

That show is bullshit propaganda.... cover to try to excuse that the Clintons massacred those people who were doing nothing illegal.

6
Jabron661 6 points ago +6 / -0

I look at the same way as the Benghazi movie 13 Hours, it focuses on the event, and leaves the higher level politics largely out of the story.

Not saying that is a good thing, but the movies themselves don't try to spin the people involved in the actual event.

Absence of the high level political views is not necessarily propaganda, as propaganda usually shows you something, something that someone wants you to believe. This series just avoided it, but was perfectly clear that it was the government that had bad intentions, it just kept the focus on the ground for the most part.

Think of it this way, if they would have went after Clinton and others, the movie would never have seen the light of day, This way, the way it was done, at least people get a reasonable portrayal of the event, and can begin to think about things and figure it out themselves who was pulling the strings.

It's a step in the right direction for sure.

I was in high school when this happened. I come from a law enforcement family that has a family member killed in the line of duty. At the time, I was seething mad at Koresh for killing the ATF agents. I had no prior knowledge of Ruby Ridge and of course the media didn't tell us the whole story. I don't remember them talking much about the guns that the Davidians had, just about how Koresh was a child molester. I remember watching the compound burn live on tv because I had stayed home from school sick that day. As I got older, I looked more into what happened and it absolutely floored me to find out about the actions of the government, the BATFE, and the FBI. I was brought up thinking that they were the good guys. Hell, I was a criminal justice major in college and one of my professors was a retired BATFE agent (He HATED that acronym. He wanted it to just be called the ATF.). I'm glad that I never applied to the BATFE. My professor was always pushing me to. Hell, I got such a distaste for federal law enforcement that I never pursued that career at all, when at one time I was almost obsessed with becoming a federal agent and fighting bad guys.

If there are any readers here, here are a few books that I couldn't recommend enough.

Patriots - by James Wesley Rawles https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1425734073/ref=tmm_pap_title_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1587992306&sr=1-1

Unintended Consequences - by John Ross https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1888118040/ref=tmm_pap_title_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1587992531&sr=8-1 (this may be harder to find)

"I come from a law enforcement family that has a family member killed in the line of duty. At the time, I was seething mad at Koresh for killing the ATF agents."

This is how the government generates sympathy. If every family has at least 1 member in the "services" (Fire, LE, Military) they are likely to side with the government.

9
SauronWasFramed 9 points ago +9 / -0

The Sunday before the raid, there was a huge article in our state paper, in MS on the second page above the fold about Koresh. I remember thinking, “This guy is going to get it”. Days later, the raid happened.

I wish I had kept that paper as evidence of the government set up.

They had ample opportunities to arrest him and didn’t. They wanted a show of force.

All they got was a snafu.
