When the government shuts down it is story after story about how awful it is. How the government being shutdown a week is so harmful to families. Yet now, when it is the private sector, it is no big deal?

So much this. 'Member when government paper shufflers and pencil pushers were out of work for like two-weeks and there was concern that they were "starving?" Meanwhile they were going to get all their pay once the government "opened" again.

I never, ever, want to hear about the government employees suffering if we have another budget show-down.

Exactly! Where are all the MSM stories about how we need to reopen because small business owners Tom and Jane can't afford to feed their three children Tommy, Molly and Johnny? We get those stories every single time the government shuts down for two weeks. Every time! And yet private, small businesses have been shuttered weeks and weeks, with possibly more weeks...and if they say they need to reopen their business they are selfish, because PEOPLE ARE DYING! never mind how selfish it is for everyone working in government to still be getting paid and just recommending hard-working families sit home for months living off their savings. Disgusting
