I️ agree. But there are plenty who would stay on their side to keep feeding their family, and those who are dems. I️ was in the Army, and it was probably 4:1 conservatives to dems, so there those would fight, but yea... a LOT of defecting would happen.
It won't be a civil war. It would be patriots fighting the government while the "progressives" cower. It would be a second American revolution.

Who fight on the governments behalf? All military i know are red blooded americans to the core.
