Attorney General William P. Barr Monday ordered U.S. attorneys to consider legal action against governors whose efforts to prevent the spread of the coronavirus infringe upon Americans’ civil rights.

...

“If a state or local ordinance crosses the line from an appropriate exercise of authority to stop the spread of COVID-19 into an overbearing infringement of constitutional and statutory protections, the Department of Justice may have an obligation to address that overreach in federal court,” Mr. Barr wrote in a memo to all 93 U.S. attorneys.

Agree. Barr did what he was brought on to do: he stopped Mueller.

Since then he's been a dud. Time to move on.

You truly don't understand the trap that Trump laid with his CDC guidelines to the overreach by governors

Fine. Then kindly explain when the hammer is going to drop on the overreaching governors.

You have my full attention.

EXACTLY! If any King, lord, or Ruler ever took as long to destroy the wicked from among their lands all due to “wait for them to destroy themselves” the world would have never seen any progress. Because the wicked would always win.. Any nation that removes the wicked from power the people rejoice.. I have not rejoiced since Trumps election, I have been happy with a lot of great things trump has done. But It’s been 3 years and not one traitor who has been accused of multiple fraudulent and criminal charges has been arrested. But Roger Stone has???

EXCUSE ME but WE are at the wires end of a massive explosion of Patriots rising up and hanging politicians publicly again.

MAKE JUSTICE PREVAIL AGAIN

Agree. Justice delayed is justice denied.

Because the DOJ forcibly removing from office a commie-crat governor (simply to satisfy your petulant impatience) would not prevent the people from simply reelecting another commie-cart Governor to replace him.

You have to let them destroy themselves, and believe me they are.

Full disclosure: I live in Richmond, VA and will likely lose my job if this shit doesn't get reopened in the next 3-4 weeks. So I am just as anxious and angry as anybody.

You are the only one talking about removal. The discussion is about our constitutional rights being obliterated.

Seems like it to me. Other posters in this thread are being more hopeful about it.

Barr's record speaks for itself. He mumbled something about addressing the platform/publishing issue...but that was many months ago. He likes to talk but he's short on action.

The entire essence of the shutdowns themselves is a damn overreach. How in the hell can making 30 million people go unemployed not be an overreach? How can destroying peoples' businesses not be an overreach? This is verifiably insane what is going on.

FL_Trumpnado 5 points ago +8 / -3

lol...........you have to establish real life case standing to sue...........Trump just created the greatest ever precedent of governor overreach to violate the bill of rights

Why couldn’t they do this with Mayors of sanctuary cities?

Somehow in Illinois a Judge was found to rule Gov Pritzker overstepped his power with extended shutdown. The One Man Eclipse says he’s going to fight it.

decline to prosecute.

If he didn't have the balls to charge the obvious crimes of McCabe, then nothing will be done until there is a revolution.

It is going to be up to us to push infringement through the courts starting at the lowest levels. I hope/assume there will be groups in each state to help coordinate this.

Our state AG, who is republican, keeps saying that our republican governor can legally lock us down... I think we will need to start by proving them wrong first.
