Good. These "orders" are just made up "law" and unconstitutional anyway. Businesses should open when they want to reopen, without permission.

The head of reopen Texas council will fucking did the state into oblivion potentially making him and the taxpayer the richest fucking people on the planet. Abbot doesn't want to fuck this up.

1
octhrope 1 point ago +1 / -0

Its not only the laws its the people who jump on social media and "shame"/fuck with anyone who has a different view of the situation. Social media is equally as responsible for the pandemonium as the orders.

Asshole posting pictures of his Tesla during the shutdown. "Hey Elon Musk help us with some ventilators!" Corny as hell. He needs that Tesla tho to chase all those ambulances. Dude is literally a personal injury lawyer.

This is true.

I will say the twitter crowd, including mysel, have been exposing all of Clay Jenkins’ garbage

8
MakeAmericaLegendary 8 points ago +8 / -0

I love how Abbot keeps shutting down Jenkins at every step.

2
Texan_American 2 points ago +2 / -0

It’s been giving me such a freedom boner watching it. Not just Abbott, but a couple times the County Commissioners have rolled back some of Jenkins mandates and authoritarianism. ie: Extending the SAH until May 30 when it was Apr 3? What?! Requiring (punishable by a fine up to $1,000 or 180 days in jail) for not wearing a mask? Jenkins has gotta go in 2022!!!

So our governor has stated that his order supersedes local orders. So the ENTIRE STATE will open May 1st, including restaurants, theaters and retail shops and malls. FU to the liberal pearl clutching city mayors.

12
HockeyMom4Trump 12 points ago +12 / -0

Do people realize that if the whole state opens, they have the freedom to continue to hide in their toilet paper bunker as long as they want to wait for a vaccine? No one will force them to go to a movie or a restaurant?

They have such FOMO they don’t want anyone else to have the freedom to go out while they are too scared to leave the house for a virus with a very high recovery rate.

Cyer6 8 points ago +8 / -0

I was hoping our state would be one of the first to start de-cucking the rest of the country. The others will start falling like dominoes, just watch. The virus will still circulate around the population but nothing horrible is going to happen. There's too much data out now that's showing it to have roughly a .02% mortality rate with the average population. Keep it removed from nursing homes and high-risk people and we'll be OK.

Do they not realize EVERYONE was still going to the grocery store? How do I know, because I went for my family and my sister's family as I'm the youngest and healthiest. The grocery store was as packed as a Sunday afternoon EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. It made me realize how dumb this all was, because instead of people being evenly dispersed, everyone was going to one single location.

14
SpaceOlympian 14 points ago +14 / -0

This has been my exact argument and point when advocating for all businesses to be open including restaurants. If you can allow people to go to any grocery store and walk all over the place but can’t figure out how to have people seated at a restaurant then somethings fucked. Use common sense people.

4
Horkers4Trump 4 points ago +5 / -1

They don't realize that if we don't get out now and start building herd immunity, we're gonna be in the same exact boat when November rolls around.

If we want to have any hope of coexisting with this virus, people are going to HAVE to be exposed to it eventually.

8
deleted 8 points ago +8 / -0
7
HockeyMom4Trump 7 points ago +7 / -0

Exactly. Plus those locations reduced their hours so instead of spreading out all day and night, everyone crams in for twelve hours instead of 24.

lifeisahologram 29 points ago +30 / -1

They will probably continue acting that way until November. Every death by corona they are gonna demand closures.

Even if it's like 12 people, they are gonna go apeshit until after the election, at which point they will still be apeshit but now about impeachment over Corona Virus handling lmao

10
Texan_American 10 points ago +10 / -0

Moved back to Texas from CA to escape tyranny...landed in Jenkins’ district. Felt like I never left CA. Homeless pop growing, no enforcement of burglary under $750, release of prisoners cause of corona, overreaching power and control, etc etc. judge has gotta go!

7
TRUMP4USA 7 points ago +7 / -0

25 percent for two weeks, then bam! I think it goes to 100 percent.

8
Esodo 8 points ago +8 / -0

Or even before. I know restaurant owners down in Tennessee who are pretty clear they plan to not enforce the 50 percent capacity bullshit for long.

4
Cyer6 4 points ago +4 / -0

I would think it's for the customers. Get them comfortable first, then when they see people relaxing and not worrying about it, let it go.

1
booblitchutz 1 point ago +1 / -0

25 percent then 50 after two weeks.

You can bet the media will be working overtime to hype against us then next two weeks.

5
Brucesky420 5 points ago +5 / -0

It won't stay at 25% for long. We just have to prove to these fuck sticks that it's okay to go outside. Infection rates will go up some again, this 25% will keep it at a point where it's not enough to scare people again - though you damn well know the media will try their hardest to pedal the fear.

I can't wait to go out and support local businesses!

I am making plans for Friday, 3 stores then a long lunch at a restaurant. Don't mess with Texas.

4

As long as they don't go full retard like Cuomo and send COVID infected into nursing homes. (with body bags)

6
Cyer6 6 points ago +6 / -0

And we're clearly into warmer, sunnier weather, which the virus hates.

5
ThatOrcTsadok 5 points ago +5 / -0

shit man, tomorrow 4/28 is supposed to be close to 95-98. summer is already here.

Why I love West Texas, we got dry, hot summers, you basically have to try and get sick out here. Here's hoping I can convince my bf to move out here instead of staying in Houston but worst comes to worst I've got enough saved up to at least last a week down there.

2
OhLollyLollyPop 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yes. A/C goung. Very hot.

3

Texan here. Very happy about this. But there are lots of triggered Karen's upset about it. Lol

1
OhLollyLollyPop 1 point ago +1 / -0

I am happy that it's officially opening up, although most of this is no different than it was. We have always been able to order things online or on the phone and pick them up at the curb or have them shipped.

Anyway, I won't be able to go anywhere until stage 4 is well underway, but I am happy for our state's economy.

Abbott said in the press conference today that the orders to allow businesses open supercede local authorities. I'm sure Dallas will scream and whine.

4
TRUMP4USA 4 points ago +4 / -0

Scream, whine then comply.

5
Texan_American 5 points ago +5 / -0

He started retweeting articles promoting a pending clash if Abbott didn’t meet HIS standards to open (as in never opening)

12
Marble68 12 points ago +12 / -0

It is fucking ON - It's going to be a rat race to the first Mexican restaurant with a patio before summer makes it too shitty to sit outside.

11
ACuriousWingnut 11 points ago +11 / -0

LOL. All I wanna do is go back to my local mediocre Mexican restaurant.

I believe Trump is depending on Texas to lead the way. And we will.

3
Cyer6 3 points ago +3 / -0

Agree. I wasn't sure where he was going with his criticism of the Georgia gov, but Trump does need the states to take control of themselves and start moving the country forward and what better place to start than Texas!

Democrats want to be on lockdown until November. Open up the economy!

2
OhLollyLollyPop 2 points ago +2 / -0

Let them huddle in their houses. They don't work anyway.

8
Ebbie8708 8 points ago +9 / -1

Good! Good fucking crepes. Just because some people are scared to go outside doesn’t mean the whole country has to shut down. Stay in doors if you are scared.

Though I did like the shit post I saw else where that we should ban driving for 14 days to stop car accidents haha

1
OhLollyLollyPop 1 point ago +1 / -0

We still have lots of car accidents in the DFW area.

8
downwithcommies 8 points ago +9 / -1

No joke. People off reeeee/Austin were posting pictures of people not giving a fuck about the distancing, others were commenting about “how well never get out alive” while 100% ignoring the hospitalizations and deaths being next to nothing.

7
Cyer6 7 points ago +7 / -0

Funny how they forget about the giant HEB's, the Costco's and other large stores that are always packed. I was running around Williamson County today and there was definitely a larger volume of vehicle traffic on the road and more people out and about. Most Texans, except for the Karens, are done with this.

1
downwithcommies 1 point ago +2 / -1

I had some pathetic piece of shit in a bandana mask look at me and cough at me on the trail this weekend. I swear it was like a 3 year old in a grown ups body. I wish she would have fallen off the bike in full tantrum. No one but this loser had a mask on.

I've been going to HEB's in two different cities and they aren't mandating them. I see employees not wearing them and quite a few guys who look like me who won't wear them.

3
OhLollyLollyPop 3 points ago +3 / -0

There's nowhere to buy them anyway. More scarce than tp at Walmart!

-1
Scroon -1 points ago +3 / -4

Don't wear the masks. If enough people do not comply, the store policy will be fucked.
