Wait until some of these other states start opening and getting back to some normalcy. I think it will put unbelievable pressure on blue state tyrants. People in CA are giving the gov the middle finger and going to beaches, and just going out and about. Others will follow. My area of Texas had people and cars bustling all over today and we're still technically in lockdown for a few more days.
My area just confirmed a shutdown to the end of may. I have been working from home since the middle of March. This will be a total of eleven weeks.
I’m so fucking sick of it. Let me do my job properly. I’m almost getting disgusted seeing a paycheck hit my account when I barely do 60min of work a day while the lower level employees are completely out of work because I can’t get them the designs they need to manufacture equipment because my client is also working from home and I can’t help them if I can’t go provide solutions in person.
Don’t get me wrong, I would definitely go into work and do what I need to do but they instilled so much fear in everyone that the client company is refusing their employees from coming in to get prototypes they need so I can design solutions around them and pass the project on. Open this fucking country back up, I don’t know what I’m going to do for another 4 weeks. I’m honestly thinking of quitting even, I hate sitting at home not being productive. This is the longest streak of “unemployment” I have ever been on. Even during college, when school let out for the semester I was already working one week in each summer. Even during the month off between fall and spring semester I would go to a temp agency and pick up shifts at a shipping company because I couldn’t take lazing around for 4 weeks. Eleven weeks is making me really angry.
Anyone hiring automation engineers in Texas or any other opening states? I will seriously move across the country just to get to actual work, not this softball work from home garbage. I have no ties to the area I live in now, and I rent so I can be at the office within a week.
