Does it not seem like we have irrevocably split as a nation?

The Left has weaponized Federal and state government, the education system, entertainment, social media and big corporations against us; all we have to fight back with is GEOTUS' Twitter, a few sites like this, and the second amendment.

Literally every aspect of our lives has been politicized and we are so divided, we can't even agree on basic facts anymore. How can we possibly reconcile and come together as a nation? What sort of compromises to our respective principles are we willing to concede?

Even a "national emergency" in the form of COVID-19 has only served to divide us further. If we can't come together over something like that, what will ever make us come together again?

I feel like we already had our second civil war, but are simply in denial over it.

We're living in a cold civil war. I'm mentally preparing for a summer of nothing but "new normal" and a crumbled shell of whatever was left of this country. It's going to take some pretty drastic measures to get things back in place, and I don't know if that means a cold civil war turning hot. Then again, I live in a blue state, and modern generations can be pretty passive.

I am also in a Blue State (California); I need an exit plan for when the shit hits the fan.

Stronghold in Vegas

Are you kidding? Vegas is California 2.0 with all the Californians moving there and voting straight blue.

That's what they're trying but there's a strong conservative, capitalist presence here that is tied to the casinos and full auto ranges that is hard to beat. We work to keep California in California before we sacrifice more territory and fall back.

Only 4 hours ride through the desert - I just might make it!

You can leave. I’m staying and I’m fighting for my home.

California is where I live now, but it doesn't really feel like home (though I do have some family roots here).

I agree, but think social media may have a bigger effect. Don't forget that CNN has tiny viewership - very few people in the nation actually watch it.

Let's just win bigly in November and rub their noses in it. I am all for watching these overgrown children kick, scream and cry all over again. Never give in to terrorist demands or toddlers throwing tantrums.

Yeah, but that's just going to ratchet things up even further (not that I am advocating against it; just pointing out that shit is going to get intense as we get closer to November and will boil over afterward).

In all honesty, I am genuinely worried that the crazed Left will attempt to assassinate GEOTUS after he is re-elected. I really think we are that far gone.

So let them cry and moan and gnash their teeth. I am done trying to meet in the middle, when these lunatics just move their goal post and expect us to go along with the bullshit.

That's what I'm saying, though - we don't want to compromise and neither do they, so where the hell do we go from here? We are becoming an ungovernable country.

There will be a Civil War II. No government in history has lasted forever. It's naive to think ours will.

But have we already had one and just forgot to shoot each other? It seems like we now have two entirely different countries.

rebelde_sin_causa 2 points ago +2 / -0

It's easy to picture the country splitting up. Harder to picture a shooting war being part of that.

They'll arrest preacher and surfer, but you can't see them shooting when we're the only ones with food because their socialism is failing?

The split was 9/11, most of us woke up, but those who pretended islam was no threat, they went on to vote in an obvious muslim to further appease their new cucked lifestyle , having given in to globalissst stockholme syndrome and fits of tratorous projectionism they further gave themselves over to the enabling of foreign subversive agit prop.....and yes they are our enemies

Yeah, I have to agree. I witnessed 9/11 firsthand (worked a block away from the World Trade Center at that time) and in the years that have followed, I have often wondered if 2001 was really the last year of normal America.

I think we will need to split the country if the left keeps demanding taxation without representation.

This. Time to choose sides and leave each other alone. Funny thing is that we can accept this but they never will - they won't stop until they have extinguished us.

It would be ideal to split off into our own nation from these crazed liberal socialists. The only issue is - geographically - this would not be possible without an actual prolonged and devastating physical civil war. In a sane world, there would be a nice, peaceful, gentlemanly agreement to just split the country right down the middle, and let us all live the way we want. We may be willing, but liberal socialists are never going to let that happen. They smell blood in the water and can taste imminent victory -closer then they’ve ever been-to bring this country to its knees and remake it into their global socialist utopia. I’m reminded of Steve Bannon’s comment during an interview right after Trump won the 2016 election: “If you think the liberals are going to give you back your country without a fight, you’ve got another thing coming.”
