Skyrim came out in 2011 and you can be a homosexual furry if you want. Then when you introduce mods, the only limit is what your imagination allows.
Personally, I played (and still sometimes play) that game because I found the gameplay itself to be enjoyable and the collection of story-expanding mods to be substantial, but to each his own.

It was originally a story about a female indy game developer who got a game journalist to give her awesome reviews in return for sex. And the indy game dev tried at first to cover it up with the story of "well we were dating at the time, and I realize now it was a conflict of interest, but I didn't think of it at the time...." Bullshit. The two were never dating. Straight prostitution, good game review for sex.
But we can't have that be the story. Can't have the story be "Shitty female game dev whose only completed game to date is a shitty & depressing visual novel sleeps with game journalist in return for hype for a game she's working on".... Because then we would think women are shitty game developers and/or programmers who use their body to get what they want and cry sexism when it doesn't work.
Like that woman who complained about the "bro-culture" at Uber.... Remember her? She was the QA (quality assurance) lead. I can assure you, from personal experience using the shitty Uber app, that she was bad at her job.
Now, I'm not going to say that women suck at programming. The first programmer ever was a woman (Ava Lovelace), and there are plenty of women who possess the math and logical skills to excel in computer sciences. What I will say is that diversity hires suck ass.
Developing a compiler was a logical move; but in matters like this, you don't run against logic - you run against people who can't change their minds. I had a running compiler and nobody would touch it. They told me computers could only do arithmetic.
Her programming language, FLOW-MATIC, was extended and is now known as COBOL and is still in use today.
She was an amazing woman in other ways too, the first woman to earn a Ph.D. in mathematics from Yale University - in 1934!
