Tbh I doubt the DNC knew about Tara Reade before they finessed Biden to the head of the pack. Somehow or other they imagined they could minimize the child sniffing and Hunter's scandals.
But Tara Reade changes the calculus. I believe now that they will try to swap Joe out during the convention. That's really their only hope.
They either didn't care and just maliciously looked at polls on who could "beat Donald Trump" and Biden would be a figurehead for the VP that will be running things
