I have taken amoxicillin labelled for use on fish, to treat an infected tooth, because I didn't want to pay the dentist to prescribe it to me. In that case it's literally the same exact pills as for human use, but in a different bottle. I don't expect most people to be competent to act as their own pharmacist though, so this lady was either stupid or malicious. I just wanted to point out that the concept isn't entirely without precedent.
