This is the way I see it, this is America, the land of the free, you are free to wear a mask if you like, if you feel you need it, and I am free to not wear a mask if I feel I don't need it.
You are free to think I am wrong, and I am free to think you are wrong.
My problem with the mask is not whether or not it is needed, it is with the government attempting to force me to wear it, with threat of punishment.
My other problem with the mask, it is being used as a fear mechanism by the media, to increase fear, to reinforce that fear, and to make this fear the "new normal" and that the government is using that fear to overreach and install more unlawful control over people, to get people used to the idea of being controlled "for their own good"
And one last comment, I have done plenty of research about it, and the consensus of "science" (favorite liberal theme, they love the science) is that these types of "everyday" masks do very little to protect you, and over time can lead to an even higher risk of getting contaminated if you get lax in your handling of it over time. Your immune system would fare much better being exposed to the world than having its exposure lowered by this type of mask.
I'm totally fine with the business deciding - that's the way it should always be (no shirt, no shoes, no service). I can also decide to never give them a dime again. I have a problem with the government mandating it. ESPECIALLY when they mandate you have to wear them even outside.
Agreed, businesses do, and should, have that right. Kentucky goes full retard on May, 11. No one allowed in a public place without a mask. It is a huge over reach by our governor, who doesn’t want his fifteen minutes of fame to pass. What I’m looking the least forward to is the over zealous store employees who feel empowered by their newfound authority to tell customers the rules. They are like masked hall monitors, who have been given the burden of saving society from the apocalypse.
Hey, I don't think I need a mask personally. I'm pretty sure I already caught the commie cough a few months ago because that was the worst goddamn flu I've ever had. I was down and out for at least a week (I voluntarily stayed home from work, thankfully) and I had sinus issues for at least a month afterwards.
That being said, it's a great way to make a fashion statement. I picked up a Texas boog flag neck gaiter that's nice and breathable even for the summer from http://www.boogstateflags.com , they have one for (I believe) every state and a couple funny ones too like the no-step snake with a gas mask on that says "Don't sneeze on me".
I'm still curious, it's been at least 6 weeks now that things have been in total lockdown mode for most places. How many of these businesses that are enforcing masks have seen a majority of their frontline workers catch the WuFlu- if any? If it's as terrible as they say, you'd think the stores would be shuttering by now due to the massive casualties. Afterall it only takes 5 - 14 days for the thing to manifest. It's been way more than that.
Same thing in my county, Wal-mart has been crammed assholes to elbows with people all day long for weeks now, and our county has 12, yes 12 cases total in the last 8 weeks, and most of those came in the first two weeks, and zero deaths.
All the people working at Wal-mart, Lowes etc. have been just fine, and mask wearing around here is maybe, 20% and that has only been in the last few weeks thanks to governor cuck and his wailing sisters in the news.
In this predicament now with Costco. Love them but am pissed they made them mandatory.
I want to cancel my membership over it but save so much with them, and no real competitor in their industry in my area to go to.
Feel like I am just punishing myself but also know that way of thinking is what they are counting on.
Not sure if I want to die on this hill but I am seriously considering it. Feel like a fucking cuck even saying this shit. Still shocked they were the first to cave in my area.
Could do what I did, I put a maga hat around my mouth and used bandana cloth to tie it to my neck. Its following the rules just enough that they can't kick you out, but is obnoxious enough to be noticed. Truth be told i got a lot of support from other customers and cashiers when I did it. The employees don't like this either.
Yes they do. The beautiful part of our country, is that we also have the right to refuse to give them any service or pay them a single dime, and instead go to the competitors who do things we agree or support with. The free market will naturally cause stubborn companies who refuse service to either change their ways to attract customers, or lose sales, customers. and profit overtime and ultimately shutdown.
I can't disagree with this more. You can't tell me that governments are prone to acting tyrannical and controlling people's lives with their power, but corporations aren't.
Sorry, but your favorite CEO is just as big of, if not a bigger piece of shit as Soros, Obama, Hillary, etc.
The only difference is the amount of control they have.
These corporations are now empowered to start acting like Gov WHitler, and there's nothing we can do about it because some conservatives, for whatever reason, worship corporations as if they're somehow immune from the worst aspects of human nature that create the conditions for governments to be tyrannical.
Imo, the Constitution should apply to corporations, too. That would solve an incredible amount of problems.
What's also required to wear the mask is the lost, soviet, desperate, all is lost look in the eyes, and walking over hunched as if you are trying slow your pace because you are walking to your own hanging...
Just a clarification here, and I wish this was more widely broadcasted to people but
Virtually every federal authority has already stated that the point and purpose of masks are not to protect yourself. They do absolutely nothing in that regard.
The idea is to stop potential asymptomatic carriers from sending out respiratory droplets from their mouths and infecting other people. Unfortunately this fact is widely ignored considering the amount of people seen wearing masks while they are by themselves in their vehicle.
That's my only gripe with the masks, as you seem to share as well, that it's a visual cue and stimulus of fear. People looking around and seeing others masked up puts out a message that screams the outside world is dangerous, and you're better off in your homes anyways.
One day, someone will be held accountable for the damages these shutdowns have incurred upon the world. I hope that day is soon

Exactly! The grocery clerk that won't let me put one item on the belt until the previous customer is out the door. Good grief man!

Well every store/gas station I go to in my local area has had the exact same people working, never wearing a mask. All still there and healthy.
It's because they're not 80 years old

Costco, in the US, is now requiring masks for all customers. I suspect others will follow.
I wonder how long that policy will last. It will probably never end now.
Until the country collapses?
Every store in my state has a sign that says * No Mask, No Service." A lot of stores have people watching and won't let you enter without a mask.
Trader Joe's too, at least in my town.
No, fuck that. Businesses do not have that right.
Where does it end? No one can enter unless they scan their vaccine microchip?
Businesses do not have the right to discriminate.
That's coming.
Yes they do. Nope
Ok, you must have blue hair to shop here.
The gay wedding was about religious beliefs. Don't falsely equate that masks
This comment is gold - EXACTLY how I feel
