It's funny to compare it to the Marxist program. The oversimplified theory of Marxism is that you have all of this inequality because of capitalism, so if you just go around tearing down any and every institution that's non-Marxist (family, religion, businesses, government, etc.) you'll magically have freedom and equality.
They're really clever about subverting and destroying power structures and bad at actually creating anything to go in its place. In Cambodia, they marched the entire city of Phenom Phen, among others, into the damned wilderness to make them into rice farmers. It went even worse than you think it did. They robbed everyone of basically anything they had and everyone had to walk, cars were only for Angka. You'd get shot for any reason or no reason at all and they loved to eat people's livers for some stupid reason. They also killed off anyone educated, because they hated the French colonialists who they blamed for everything, and they separated children from their parents to re-educate them.
So a decently prosperous country was taken back to the stone age practically overnight.
If you read the survivor's stories, you'll find out that some of them didn't even repent of that as they were being shot. There's one lady who was saying "how is this free? how is this equal?" pointing out that they'd failed miserably in creating the utopia Communism promised, despite following all of its doctrines very strictly, right before they shot her and ate her.
And they wonder why intelligent people don't trust them with power...
This seems like another of those times where we fail to take advice from the wise in the form of continuing to repeat history again and again. Tolkien, the founding fathers, Orwell... they all knew what was coming and railed against it.
Looks like the Wikipedia article of The Silmarillion. The Silmarillion is basically the somewhat unfinished prequel to The Lord of the Rings. It doesn’t focus on the ring at all but is more focused on the creation of the universe that LOTR takes place in and how all the different species came to be, and how good and evil came to exist. As you might have guessed, it is extremely biblical and an awesome read.
But everything isn't ruined, because everything isn't inside an old, centralized institution. Distributed power and distributed knowledge are how we win.
the undead bogs and cave ghosts are the programmed dead npcs sleeping in their self crafted entropic pools of misery, don't disturb the waters! (same with harry potter/dumble dore and the horcrux cave lake)
These dead people, touch some truth to any part of their pool and they all clamor at once with great noise, they wail and woop and scream for noisy fear is all they have, they might grab, push, pull, bite, and scratch, but physically they are quite weak and brittle.
Stand your ground or avoid them till the noise passes and they will go back to sleep.
Have an older girlfriend who went on a hippy adventure for a few weeks with a boyfriend. She bailed after she didn't have anything to eat for 4 days. And became a lifelong Republican immediately thereafter....
You should check out the documentary Wild Wild Country. Followers of an Indian spiritual leader built a commune in Oregon and were quite successful. They'd prob still be going if their leadership didn't fuck up at the onset by buying ranchland legally not to be used otherwise and then harassed and eventually took over the local town for calling them out.
Not to mention, Christopher was a careful steward over his father's works. He actively prevented it from falling into the same trap that Star Wars, Harry Potter, etc have fallen into. Where they're just expanded, side-quested and milked to death. JRR Tolkien even foresaw it himself and forbade that his works should ever fall into the hands of Disney.
I'm sorry to see Christopher go for many reasons, and one of them is the fact that The Lord of the Rings will probably soon be taken over by modern writers and ruined. Their politics shoehorned into the story and the original goodness written out.
Tolkien was based. LOTR has never been more relevant. The books are great and the Peter Jackson movies (LOTR not the Hobbit) are great as well. The main plot is basically 'absolute power corrupts absolutely' and the subplots include but are not limited to:
getting the various men of the west to put aside their differences to unite against a common existential threat
getting people ( well tree people lol) who think this threat wont affect them to realize it will just like everyone else
realizing that the enemy has agents within the kingdoms of the west that are polluting the minds of their leaders to allow the evil to win
most importantly that the forces of evil are always more powerful (initially) than good. they always have more soldiers, more resources, everything is on their side but no matter how bad things look there is always hope.
I recommend everyone who hasn't read the books or watched the movies to at least watch the movies because they are awesome.
Which makes it all the funnier to hear that the Tolkien documentary removed all references to Christianity. Even if you’re violently opposed to Christianity, it’s vitally important to understand them and their work. May as well make a Martin Luther King Jr. documentary where he’s Indian.
Huh... interesting when applied to China who steals all of their designs from Western countries. Also, the entirety of Islam is stolen from Judaism and Christianity and then twisted.
Seriously, no creativity. It amazes me how people are fascinated with serial killers or evil characters in movies/shows or how being edgy is seen as groundbreaking. Destruction is easy. Creation takes work.
Tolkien is one of Us. We go by many names. Call us 4channers. Call us /b/tards or /pol/lacks. Call us anonymous, or the people of the Internet. Call us witches, call us The Crazy People. We are the gnostics, and we see the strings that are being pulled, we notice when people try to manipulate reality, we see the puppet masters and we are always three steps ahead of the Spider. For all of its frustrations, the powers of evil are below us. They cannot touch those of us who see. Our true name is the Gnostics. Tolkien is communicating to us in code while at the same time trying to clue people in. A core of gnosis is the awareness that the power which we commonly refer to as the Archon, that power which is commonly known as evil, it cannot create one goddamned thing. That is, if there is a drawing it can twist it and manipulate it. But given a blank piece of paper the Archon cannot make any sort of drawing etc., which is why the left cannot meme. This is very serious business to the lot of us. It is not simple political games, it is interdimensional warfare.
I’ll politely disagree with you on the Gnosticism. That has become a broad term that gets thrown around. The first Gnostics were ascetic Christian heretics that believed in dualism between the spiritual and the material. According to them the material was evil and the spiritual good. Salvation would come by receiving hidden knowledge that helps you reject the material world and embrace the spiritual world. This is antithetical to Christianity “For in him (Christ) the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily.” Col 2:9. Christians believe that the body grows and is sustained by God Col2:19. If the Christ has fully embraced the physical by becoming man then he and the Gnostics do not agree.
Tolkien was a devout Christian and should have rejected the Gnostic hatred of the physical world.
I’ll concede that New Age Gnosticism has taken many different forms and may not align with the original meaning.
I agree with a lot of what you said; I bet Tolkien would too. Hidden truth, powers of corruption, hidden warfare.
TLDR: Tolkien was Christian not Gnostic. It IS serious. The left can’t meme
He was a gnostic(lowercase g because it's not a religion and there are no beliefs), the physical world is inherently evil, and we were always seen as heretics. Jesus dropped all kinds of clues to point people in the direction of reality, things like "he who has seen me has seen the Father," telling us our bodies are holy temples of God and whatnot... Jesus himself was in fact a gnostic, and we the knowledgeable folk consider him one of the most critical persons who spread truth across the earth. Where you think gnostic teachings conflict with Christianity, you have fundamental misunderstandings of either gnostic teachings Christianity or both.
But this post was not made for you. See, if you are not one of us with knowledge of the hidden things, there is nothing we can say to convince or show or indicate reality to you. It is something you must discover on your own. We are not an organization of faith but of knowledge. If you do not know these things and do not therefore understand them, do not dare open your mouth to say "I'll politely disagree..." How can you disagree on something which you have no information regarding? That is the type of religious thinking which spreads through a brain like cancer! Your "polite disagreement" is your accidental spread of disinformation. Be careful, and guard your mind against falsehoods and defense of falsehoods like a fierce soldier mans their post.
I don't want to argue with you about what you believe or what secret knowledge you believe you have. I can neither confirm nor deny that. I completely admit that there is a world of unseen events and powers. My only statement is that historic Gnosticism is not compatible with the Christianity of biblical canon. It cannot be according to 1 Timothy, Colossians, 2 John, Romans and others. The material world is in bondage to corruption and is waiting for restoration (Rom 8:19-23) if you believe Christ was a gnostic than you have a different christ than me. I can live without being as knowledgeable as you but I think the distinction needed to be stated.
Secret knowledge and hidden knowledge are not the same. The bible is a historical document subject to the same human corruption that pervades all others.
Historic "gnosticism" is subject to lots of manipulation and lies. Gnostics are embedded into every church, every religion, and we are steering people away from the more violent aspects of their religions.
We are the witches. We are the hippy mafia. We are the quiet nice people at church. We lead bible studies and emphasize the value of love and self-examination, working to reduce judgment of others. We do not wish to crush the dreams of religious folk but to bring their faith to completion. Through faith, deep prayer, devotion and even fasting one can learn the things of god.
Truthfully I tell you Jesus Christ was one of Us. And we are everywhere. Everywhere. Nikola Tesla, Russell Brand, Seth Rogan, Terrence McKenna to name a few.
Gnosticism and psychedelics are deeply connected. Typically if someone is still asleep I think of them, "they just haven't done enough acid/shrooms/DMT"
Remember when ISIS was infiltrating europe and LotR memes saying dont be racist against Orcs? I shit you not there was a woke review of the middle earth game where the reviewer said he was offended about how you dominate and shame orcs.
This is spot on, and applies to many areas of life.
Observe a person's actions. Ask yourself if they are helping in any way? Are they creating or producing something? Are they leaving a situation better off than when they found it?
If the answer is no to all of them, and they're doing this often, then they probably aren't a good person. Some might even say, evil.
Now keep that in mind when thinking about the class of professional complainer critics known as the MSM. What thing of value does their constant sniping, snarkiness, and doom and gloom predictions offer to the world?
It's a common criticism of many nomadic cultures as they tend to be raiders and conquerers rather than building up their own towns and cities.
Plus it doesn't look great on a religion that venerates kings of old for ethnically cleansing foreign citystates all the way down to killing all the livestock and cutting fetuses out of their mothers' bellies.
Judaism is at its core a racial supremacy cult formed in the old days when you could get away with frequent genocide by blaming "God". It's fundamentally identical to Islam except that they have no compulsion to proselytize.
P. S. For any hysterical Karens out there I'm criticizing a religion, not a race, so go cry racism somewhere it makes sense.
"hey Rabbi, why did the Israelites slaughter every man, woman, and child in the city?"
"uh, God said we had to, so it was OK"
"hey rabbi, why did the Israelites kidnap women from the fields and rape them?"
“um, same reason."
I'm just looking at it from a less biased perspective. My whole world won't come crashing down around my ears if I admit that its God is flawed.
Assuming you're a believer, I don't think you're doctrinally allowed to entertain the idea that the Bible is morally flawed. Cognitive dissonance will not allow it.
That's what I'm talking about. You're thinking in very binary terms. I referenced that you aren't understanding the book. So I must be one of "them" to you.
You can even pick up the cliffs notes version. Just go read more, because your claims are false. Veneration of village burning? That's a fucking lie.
KMG, people do not actually read the Sriptures that contain these "orders" from God. God goes out of his way to point out the idolatry and major sin of all of the conquered tribes/Nations...and these Nations were given ample time to reform They chose not to do so. Their worthessness in the eyes of God was more than enough justification for them being removed and replaced by God's chosen people.
By the way, when God;'s chosen people also descendd into idolaty and sin, THEY were banished into exile, either in Assyria or Babylon...and eventually lost their Promised Land.
Gos is very consistent.
Our disagreement lies in the fact that you see these as orders God which were later recorded.
Since I don't believe it was God ordering the mass slaughter, I see these as post facto justifications for slaughtering foreign nations, looting their wealth and genociding their residents to maintain Israel's blood purity.
You must justify any action taken by this genocidally supremacist cult or else you may feel it shakes the very foundations of Christianity by discoordinating its theology.
I disagree. Since that disagreement is a matter of dearly held faith I doubt we can resolve it. I'm merely explaining the perspective of someone who doesn't a priori justify any and all actions taken by the Israelites.

Tolkien went to Mass/church daily. EVERY SINGLY DAY. It is no wonder he understood good and evil so profoundly.
Man this is spot on. Wisdom from the wise
This seems like another of those times where we fail to take advice from the wise in the form of continuing to repeat history again and again. Tolkien, the founding fathers, Orwell... they all knew what was coming and railed against it.
That's the lefty M.O., to infiltrate and corrupt every institution. They call it the long march through institutions. That's why everything is ruined.
It's also called O'Sullivan's Law.
Thanks for calling that out
OP, where can we find the rest of this text???

Decentralized power and knowledge. Decentralized.
Distribution implies that it's handed to us like scraps from the table.
And it began - when else? - in the 19-fucking-60s. Literally the worst decade in the history of this country, and nothing else even comes close.
Tolkien is one reason I have given up on leftism. The lessons are too clear.
The orcs as invaders commanded from internal traitors.
The Orcs are a freak show of violent whack jobs.
Demanding acceptance for their self-destructive culture. Tolerance for their intolerance and violence.

On point!
What bad did the orcs do, really?
They are literally only defending their homeland, aren't they?
Parasites can not feed off of each other.
Case in point: Bernie being kicked out of a commune for being too lazy.
A bunch of hippies tried it in the 60s, but they were more interested in getting high than growing crops.
You forgot getting Iaid.
Don't forget the pedophilia. Some of those communes were basically hippy cults where the stronger men had their way with anyone they wanted.
Have an older girlfriend who went on a hippy adventure for a few weeks with a boyfriend. She bailed after she didn't have anything to eat for 4 days. And became a lifelong Republican immediately thereafter....
The red pill comes in many forms lol
I like this story, whether it's true or not. Good one!

The same reason birds fly north to cooler climates!
To avoid all the god damned tics and parasites and disease!
Come back when the communists have died off again
Tolkien was one of the wisest thinkers in the last 200 years; C.S. Lewis, with whom he was close friends, was another.
Spez to add: RIP Christopher, who died a few months ago. Most of his father's work would never have seen the light of day if not for him.

Not to belittle Christopher's efforts, but with an Amazon adaptation already in the works I would bet my left nut LOTR is about to be ruined.
Yeah I agree with you there. It really is a shame
Prepare for Gandalf the Gay.
Tolkien brought C.S. Lewis to Christ, and he became one of the world's greatest Christian apologists. Don't ever give up on people.
Tolkien was based. LOTR has never been more relevant. The books are great and the Peter Jackson movies (LOTR not the Hobbit) are great as well. The main plot is basically 'absolute power corrupts absolutely' and the subplots include but are not limited to:
Still some of my favorite books/movies. Nice summary of their relevance.
Tolkien is echoing the theme of the Bible. God is the the creator and Satan corrupts.
Both were deep-thinking theologians in their own right.
Both used their writings to the effect of translating eternal truths to those who would otherwise ignore them.
Which makes it all the funnier to hear that the Tolkien documentary removed all references to Christianity. Even if you’re violently opposed to Christianity, it’s vitally important to understand them and their work. May as well make a Martin Luther King Jr. documentary where he’s Indian.
While there are certainly biblical themes in his work, Tolkien has specifically said his work isn't allegorical (of anything)
Tolkien was a very devout Catholic, so it makes sense.
Exactly. He's describing sin perfectly.
Huh... interesting when applied to China who steals all of their designs from Western countries. Also, the entirety of Islam is stolen from Judaism and Christianity and then twisted.
Very interesting.
Evil is a buzzkill. Boring and predictable. Heavy-handed and lame.
Seriously, no creativity. It amazes me how people are fascinated with serial killers or evil characters in movies/shows or how being edgy is seen as groundbreaking. Destruction is easy. Creation takes work.
Soros is Morgoth. Change my mind
Satan is Morgoth. Soros is Sauron.
The orcs are muslim.
Rinos are Saruman.
"...and most importantly desiring power" spot on! And also about not being able to create, only destroy
The real tell is that they did exactly what the left wanted to these things and then not even the left wanted anything to do with them.
The left can’t meme.
They counterfeit everything
They are goblins that can only raid, pillage and steal.
So then the right response isn't to destroy the thing but restore it.
MAGA
I think this really nails how the left always take over some big property or story and then everyone hates it and it immediately dies.
And then come the impotent defenses "Well, it was definitely an ethical diverse project, maybe everybody's a bigot and that's why it wasn't good?"
But the reality of course is that not even they shelled out cash to see the abomination they knew they were creating.
Case in point: the Harley Quinn movie flopping. Everyone wants to blame men but men were the majority of customers who paid to see the damn thing!
Where the hell is the 51% of the population you were directly courting???
Cannot create, can only twist and corrupt.

You'd have to in fact be antisemitic to think this was relating to Jewish people.
