I’m open to buying 1/2 to a whole cow if it can be butchered for me. Grand scheme of things it isn’t much but I’d help if I knew how.

Appreciate the link. I’d be looking to help out some ranchers/farmers not necessarily a retail outlet.

Ranchers and farmers sell to retail outlets.

I realize that. I’m more looking to take some off the hands of someone who is having issues not someone who has the ability to easily sell to a retailer.

Can we buy directly from them and pay for shipping? If you can not store a half a cow, like most of us, maybe just cuts of meat instead. Refrigerated shipping?

If anyone figures this out let me know. I usually buy 1/2 cow every year from a small farmer about 3 hours away from me. I spoke with him the other day and being that he is small time (relatively) and not really a production farmer he isn’t having issues.

As an FYI the rule of thumb is

4 cb ft for 1/4 cow

8 cb ft for 1/2 cow

16 cb ft for whole cow
