Not all viruses are equal, we don't know if we'll have a vaccine or not until it's tested because there's a lot that can make a vaccine not work. When you activate the immune system to suppress it, you're giving it a lot of targets that it can use to make more of the damned virus. That's why we're stuck with anti-viral treatments to suppress the viruses spread, rather than to get the immune system to fight it.
Also, there is at least one herpes vaccine, namely the one for shingles (herpes zoster). So you'll have to qualify things a bit more if you want to say that.
Nobody knows if these vaccines will pan out until they're tested, though, that much is true. The damnable thing is that a lot of vaccines don't pan out, but we've got a bunch of different vaccines being tested, so hopefully one of them will pull through.
The first herpes zoster vaccine had about a 50% failure rate, so a second one was developed and marketed. That one has a significant risk of causing an active case of shingles. Let's hope the race to market a Corona vaccine doesn't work as well as that.
Having a cure for HIV and herpes would be a miracle that any Pede who is on our team I believe would be extremely grateful for and a cure for those two would be far more helpful than this Chinese Flu that a person can cure/recover/survive from WITHOUT a vaccine nor any medicated cure; if those who caught the virus take the anti-malaria drug plus the other one that starts with an “a” (if the state did not ban it to hurt President Trump) they will recover very quickly.
