One of the great things about this country is that Police officers can use discretion when enforcing the law, meaning they can use common sense; that was lacking in this circumstance.

Nope not here in Washington either people blow by the state patrol in the median of I-5 doing 80mph in a 60 zone. They have stopped the DOT from doing any construction on the highway even though this would be the perfect time to get it done with barely anyone on the road. Meanwhile they have also shut all new construction down except for their own pet projects literally picking winners and losers. Contractors can't get supplies at box stores only home owners cute. Yet Boeing with over 40k employees is plugging away, governor donations go a long way in this state. Our governor's daughter works for Billy and Melinda's foundation also what a fucking coinkidink. Haven't seen that shit posted on any local or msm outlets, wankers the lot.
There's nothing to even enforce. We are not under martial law and there are no laws on the books voted on in a legislature that gives police any power to enforce lockdown measures. These officious assholes give good cops a bad name and deserve nothing but a pink slip a public kick in the ass for this behavior.
Police officers in blue states are Nazis, change my mind. I used to respect them, but after COVID, they deserve nothing but derision and suffering.
How could you do this to your neighbors? You'd have to be a monster. The exact type of person that would show up to your house and black-bag your families under the guise of "just following orders".

I used to work with civilian cops and every time I heard the term "The Brotherhood", I'd become nauseated.
Not just blue states, sometimes blue cities. I live in Utah, one of the reddest states in the country, and I was once talking to a guy who used to be a cop in Park City. He ended up transferring to a different city (Provo) because he got so frustrated by the Park City Police Department not letting him do his job because they didn't want to upset all of the rich liberals who own vacation homes in Park City.

Then, although you might win a not-guilty verdict from a jury of your peers, the DA, being an absolute scum piece of shit will threaten to charge you with multiple felonies if you don't plead guilty to lesser charges. Freedom to assemble is not permission. It's a right. And short of martial law being declared, there isn't an order that any branch of government can issue to rescind that right.

Listen to their breathing and their speech. Check out the body language. Their adrenaline was going. How would these two react in a real life or death "feared for my life" situation? How are these two going to react in a situation where lethal force might be used? Are they going to be able to get someone to calm down or are they going to make it a lethal encounter? This just exposes the police as potential escalators of situations that didn't need to even happen.
