Not the same at all. The stim check is the Government giving MY money back to me. The Tesla subsidy is taking MY money and giving it to someone whose buying a $100,000 luxury vehicle.
As I understand it, there are no subsidies for big oil. The subsidies are only for small companies like the ones that lead the fracking boom and helped make us energy independent. I'm ok with that.
I know less about subsidies in those markets, but I'd probably find things to gripe about.
Tesla isn't the only one to receive this subsidy either, all greener vehicles receive it. But I still don't like that I'm paying for someone else's luxury.
