The body had been there for some time by the time it was found. They blamed it on fainting because of an unverified heart condition which her family vehemently denied, and which even if true, would not have resulted in lack of bloodflow to the brain.
Then we later find out the coroner who performed the autopsy had already lost his license in two states for lying and neglecting his duties, as well as being charged in 2012 for storing dead body parts in his storage unit. His autopsy report didn't even have an estimated time of death. We also find out that people involved in the investigation had donated heavily to Scarborough's campaign. The autopsy report was also released in September, 2001. It was forgotten after 9/11.
Scarborough also came out within 3 hours of her dearh and held two press conferences, being sure to say she had medical problems. And a few years later on Don Imus's radio show, he joked about having to murder his intern after having sex with her.
Conclusion: he probably killed her or had her killed for one reason or another. He had just announced his resignation a couple months before she died, and two months after she died, he did step down. This was at the beginning of his fourth term in office... Very strange behavior.
