Their wet dream is daddy government taking care of everything so they never have to work or move and they can just simp & watch tv all day. They arent liberal rebels at all, they are weak
They were always puppets of Fabian and Frankfurt communists. They were told to pretend to be rebels until the communists grabbed power. Now they are told to bow to the power, and like the human effluence they are, they obey.
Mainstreamish counter-cultural movements (like punk) are pretty much gone. The major counter-cultural movement right now is right leaning with a return to traditional values and small government. Since the Left hates such things, they need to be the very opposite of that.
Those movements were always fake and only existed because the country was still under over-all conservative leadership. Now that the counter-culture types are in charge the message has been reversed. They never stood for a real counter culture, just a 'fuck traditionalism' platform hidden behind edgy principles they didn't actually hold.
because the liberals have been taken over by communists, by being open to the idea that everyone is equal in ability and we should somehow try to distribute wealth equally we could achieve more freedom - as in poverty wouldn't hinder your ability - they opened the door to the simple fact that in order to do such a thing you would need to give away your freedom
you can't freely distribute anything equally, you have to be forced and your entire being has to be monitored
it's the same as when you try to exchange freedom for safety and you end up losing both, just with equality: the more equality is enforced the less free you end up being, these people haven't actually tasted enough freedom to realize what they would be losing - all they have had up to this point is their parents and teachers
you can't be free and completely safe, you have to be forced into a situation in which options are limited and you are monitored at all times to enforce this supposed safety
the ability to make mistakes freely is looked down upon, even though it is fundamental that you are able to freely fuck up for growth and success

All of that shit is what their masters instilled into them when this country was still run by conservative old guard.
Now that they have passed away and the children of the 60s are actually in charge, the message is reversed.
