I'm just really excited, but I'm not in the mood to get trashed elsewhere. So I'm posting here. I'm an introverted homebody, but even I have been going stir crazy. I feel for all the extroverts.

Anyone else celebrating with me? What are you most looking forward to?

I can't wait to go out to dinner on a hot date with my husband. :) I miss sushi!

What's "reopening" mean for TX? Here in MN (lowest infection rate in the US), our retard fatfuck governor extended our "stay at home order" to 5/18 (from 5/4) today and his trickle-opening means "some retail stores can now do curbside pickup". Restaurants, barbers, mom & pops, still closed.

I'd run against this guy (and win) if I had any desire to be a faggy politician. He's an utter failure.

It's phase 1 of reopening, so restaurants, movie theaters, churches, malls, and most businesses can open for 25% occupancy inside. Patios will be open completely, but will still have 6 feet between tables.

The downside is that some businesses like Cinemark are refusing to open until June. Nail salons, tattoo parlors, etc. will remain closed until phase 2.

It's not perfect, but I'll take it!!!! Phase 1 should end 5/18 and if everything is going well and it's not spreading like crazy, Phase 2 will loosen the restrictions more.

So sorry about your state. That's so frustrating!

I’m in Georgia. Phase 1 still kind of sucks because a lot of restaurants still aren’t open (25% capacity and not a large enough area to seat outside to beat the margins) but damn it felt good going to the gym yesterday. Social distancing was not a problem, there was maybe 8 other people working out when I was there.

Glad you got to go to the gym. That sounds so nice and I don't even like the gym hahahaha. I just want to go somewhere other than the grocery store lol

The businesses that choose to remain closed are what I'm a little bit concerned about. But it can only be an improvement over how we have been living lol

Fuck. I miss the gym/pool. Gym/pools are in Phase 3 for Alberta. Barber due to be soon so that's nice. but who knows when Phase 3 comes up.

Do you have to wear a mask at the gym?

9
HiImJBags 9 points ago +9 / -0

Nope. Masks aren’t required to wear in Georgia. The owner has to have PPE available if the employee wants to wear it, they also have to enforce the 6 foot rule. I would guess the cardio equipment would be closed off for every other machine, but I only do weights at the gym and the cardio is upstairs and I didn’t look.

Your Governor is a very smart person.

I practically jizzed in my pants when I saw this, because this is EXACTLY what I've been saying should've been done day one. If this virus was such a problem, all businesses have a fire marshal designated maximum capacity. They should have been cut to 25% (very generous) and staggered tables.

I've been saying it for over a month now, so seeing it put into practice makes me want to fucking scream and cry. It's what I would have done in MARCH. It's so obvious - you let businesses operate, and they'll be hurt, but they still have a CHANCE. Aghhhhh!!!!

I'm so fucking frustrated, but I'm happy for Texas.

Yes!!!! I agree completely. I'm so sorry for your frustrations. I hope our state can prove that this works and other states will follow. And if not... well Texas is a pretty great place to live! No state income tax and a really low cost of living. :)

I love our governor. My (late) dad actually went to high school with him and said he was always a really nice guy.

They let WalMart, Grocery stores operate with hundreds of people at once inside but a restaurant couldn't use the same formula to operate as well. it would be easy, figure out the occupancy and remove extra chairs or close booths as needed.

Exactly.

Logical inconsistency highlights the real plan - destroy small businesses, 50% of American jobs.

He's basically also telling the "not one more death" crowd to indirectly get bent.

If you're worried, no one's making you go out.

Glad I decided to move to TX. Otherwise I'd be living under God King Newsom right now...dodged a bullet.

These are phase 1 of federal guidelines. I would like to see the federal guidelines emphasize and encourage Governors not to treat their State as though it were all the same, but to account for differences in population density. 1 time it mentions that it's ok to do this.

April 1 all Counties with 0-10 people infected could've opened, with no risk of the second wave spiraling out of control. By 4/10 we would've had data to decide how much more to open; Counties with 11-50? 11-200? Whittling it down til just large cities that are real hotspots aren't open, and have ALL the resources focused on them, with lots of data and experience.

Our Governor said we're "ahead of phase 1", so apparently he's just lying. Honestly I haven't read the federal guidelines entirely because I know our Governor is a cuck and will not be following them. I've been paying attention to his "orders" and today was a kick in the balls. Thought him extending it would be crazy with our low case rate, but should've seen it coming...he is a Democrat, after all.

Yay for phase 1! I'm not thrilled with the way these are laid out, but at least it's SOMETHING.

Congratulations to you. WI extended lockdown til 5/26, but we aren't as restrictive as some States. We had a massive protest Saturday at the State Capitol building, including a guillotine. Over 5,000 gathered at the main event PLUS cars driving around the Capitol to rival how many MI had, PLUS thousands more walking on the sidewalks around the Capitol building. 10,000?

Helicopters overhead at our peak. None of their footage got reported, they don't want you to see! Not organized as an open carry event, LOTS of AR-15s :)

killerbunny88 [S] 8 points ago +8 / -0

Yeah, I wish it was a complete reopen, but I'm not going to complain. I do think governors need to handle this well to prevent backlash, so I understand the caution. I'm just thankful that things are moving forward and there is a plan in place.

I LOVE ALL THE PROTESTS!!! 10,000!!!! That's amazing! I hate that the protests aren't being covered, though. How infuriating. Out of curiosity, how did you guys organize it? Last I heard Facebook was banning them. (I'm not on Facebook, anymore, so let me know if that has changed).

CT is until May 20, which was until a day or so ago a expected date. The last two Monday's several hundred cars spent a hour circling the capitol and Gov. Residence, planned to occur just after he returned home and suddenly we re open many of the closed places.

CuomoisaMassMurderer 5 points ago +5 / -0

Is this an official "phase 1" re-opening, or a different measure?

I lived in CT for about a year. Amazing that there's so many fewer cases there than NJ, but I guess people don't commute into NYC from as far as they do in NJ. Seems like you don't have to get very far away from the city and cases drop off dramatically. You'd think Governors would account for that in their royal decrees

This whole thing pisses me off. We killed ourselves economically for a more contagious flu. Death rate under .05% and 90% of that is elderly or people with serious health problems and a weakened immune system.

Don't believe it? Wait until more and more testing comes in and then the same shitheads who are demanding we stay shut down will be tripping over themselves to claim they were against the shutdowns all along.

POTUS needs to order everything open or people are going to start blaming him for this whole shit show.

"I'll take it!!!"

I'm very unhappy that I've been put in time out and "might" get some priveledges back with good behavior.

I'm going to be pissed off about this for a long time.
