Tariffs for a biological weapon? I disagree. Make it illegal to manufacture in China and make it illegal to sell Chinese products to our citizens. I want scorched earth for what this lockdown has done to so many and my family personally. China needs to be brought to its knees.

Don't forget melamine in baby formula, poison in pet treats that killed unknown amounts of our furry buds, lead paint in children's toys, out of spec electronic components that start fires, bunk safety devices, and more. I would say it’s a wonderful weapon. Look around it brought the entire world to its knees. Body count isn’t the only metric of how effective a weapon is. Look at nukes. They have killed an estimated 202,000 people. About 1/3 of the number of people that die in America from heart diseases every year. And people are probably more afraid of nukes.

If it shut things down and hurt us economically, it is as much of a weapon as torpedoes sent against an expensive ship: except better, because in the case of torpedoes we'd shoot back and in the case of a virus they can give conflicting stories to add to the confusion. Don't just stop buying things that are from Chinese companies. Research the items you are buying (at least do this for things over $100), and if they say "made in the USA", verify that.

-China, the worlds second largest economy, is considered developing, so they get the perks of this too, meaning their trade get’s subsidized by the country they’re shipping too.

So I looked up the history of developing countries of the world to see how they managed to get around the high cost of trade prior to our comrades at the UN.
You know, I found one that started out with literally nothing but territory they had to fight for, was warring with the major shipping states, and generally had a rough beginning of massive external oppression. As far as I can tell, they got no preference in shipping from His Majesty's Royal Mail. Their money was no better than toilet paper, so they couldn't buy any privileges. They had to actually deliver their products themselves as there was no worldwide system as there is now, and this frequently ended with them being attacked and held for ransom. No one stepped in to intervene, let alone subsidize this commerce.
Somehow, that little Podunk backwater country ended up literally building the worldwide system of trade, then on bad advice opened the UN, and now is being told there is no way for a country to develop without world powers subsidizing their shipping and doing everything for them...

I've done a little ecommerce, nothing too big. But I saw delivery prices where it was cheaper from China to the southeast US than California. It's insane. They've sold us out.
We're about to see a 30% contraction and a possible great depression. Because of them. If we can't cut the cord because we want to save 8% on our doodads, then we get what we deserve when they accidentally release a much worse disease. Or Melanie in baby formula. Or lead in kid's toys.
