I went to a top tier University and have relevant experience. The hubris you’re describing is present even in undergrads that failed out or only took 1 class before dropping out. Suddenly everybody’s a communist and attending communist rallies, filled with “well, AXUALLY” responses to anyone pointing out how all known instances of communism at scale seem to have failed spectacularly, outside of a hippie commune here that only failed dismally. They’re always either fat ugly retard type people that think gender’s a colonial construct meant to oppress girls into twerking, or hyper rich types that just say it’s a good idea to make them look good since they have infinite foreign money anyway so what the hell does it matter to them what the peasants do.
I commented on it elsewhere in my history going into detail, but it’s not hard to see why. The entire model of Academia, from K12 to Post Doc, has largely become communist. Then you look in the media, and online, and it’s an entire echo chamber of the same thing. It would be really weird if there wasn’t a sudden love for Communism given that environment people are in for at times the first 30 something years of their adult life. The fact that they had to rebrand it to Socialism is evidence that it’s a failure. It’s like when they came up with sociopathy to be a ‘nicer sounding’ version of psychopathy. It’s the same shit. Part of the reason America did well is because of how decentralized it is.
