SALT is a discount on federal taxes to people who live in Blue States.
Their ‘logic’ is that because they pay high State taxes, they don’t have to pay as much into the Federal taxes.

No wonder Blue States run rampant saying "huurr duurrr Blue States subsidize Red States".
With the SALT deduction, Blue States kept raising taxes for themselves and left the Feds with less every year until it became nothing.
