Whitler needs the legislature to approve an extension of a state of emergency after 28 days under the 1976 emergency law. The did once at her request, but they refused to extend it yesterday.

She decided to extend it anyway, somehow saying that she has the power to do this under the 1945 emergency law, even though the 1976 law explicitly lists a pandemic as an emergency (unlike the 1945 law) and requires that the legislature approve the extension. She is also using powers granted by the 1976 law.

The legislature is suing and it seems to me to be an open and shut case.

If the judiciary sides with Whitler, there will be massive public disobedience.

The legislature should draw up impeachment articles then. It's against the law / state constitution.

She's a Democrat so it's okay

That's great but will likely take a couple years since our last governor made it harder to impeach.

There should be massive public disobedience right now.

Every state that has been locked down unnecessarily WILL have their governors removed by the American public, if things don't change, FAST.

I don't count anything we have seen as "massive". Sorry.

With gas prices this low they're practically begging us to make molotov cocktails!

The Governors subverting the authority of the Constitution and their defenders are the only people in the way of Americans and their freedom.

Only problem here is how long will the judiciary take?

Democrats/leftists/communists love to do as they please, then just rescind their ruling after they've been proven wrong but the damage is already done.

The judiciary of the claims court of Michigan (only way to sue the state) yesterday just ruled that is not up to them to decide if the State is acting in the best manner (which it determined they weren't), but only if the State was acting lawfully (which it determined they were).

It's a clusterfuck.

How the fuck is this lawful? The judges on that court also need to hang

I bet she got the order from the DNC. She and many other dem governors plan to extend the lockdown till November! This pandemic is definitely politicized. Dems are counting on the Chinese virus to accomplish what Adam Schiff and Bob Mueller couldn't!
