There needs to be a reckoning when this is over. Billions of dollars over decades given to the CDC and NIH whose job it was to prepare us for a pandemic. When it's time to shine, they fail with tests. They fail with national stockpiles of ventilators, masks, gloves. They fail in getting to ground zero to get a head start (yea, I know China, but there should be been a process in place). They fail in driving the WHO to demand border shutdowns that could have minimized the spread.
Fauci failed, and is hailed as a hero. In business, he would be ousted.
