They’re perfectly fine with importing 25 tons of beef from Namibia, but our own farmers are suffering and about to have to kill their own livestock because processing plants are shut down. If that’s not fucked up, idk what is, good quality, good people, and wasted food, oh plus they get to rage about how Americans are now starving as an added bonus. Since this started, the meat department shelves in all grocery stores around here have been relatively bare, and that was just from smart people panic buying. (Good luck finding a chicken breast even now, thankfully I’ve realized the thigh is by far the best part.) In a couple weeks, I’m afraid it’s gonna be a serious supply problem not a demand problem, and it’s gonna get ugly, once again with the added bonus of making Trump look bad. They really need to take decisive action (as Trumps started he’s looking into) to nip this in the bud. If there was a time where it was needed to use the DPA, apparently strong serious rhetoric did the trick for ventilators, but processing facilities seem to not give a damn even at their own demise, it’s startling.
Didn't we have a fellow Pede (at least one of them) who had to liquidate a ton of livestock last week? It's disgusting. These people hate our country and its wonderful hard-working citizens.
I’m no animal rights activist or anything but it is depressing as hell that animals are being killed just to be tossed out. I can’t even imagine how ranchers are dealing with this emotionally. Imagine what it must be like killing an animal that you raised for years knowing that it’s death will serve no benefit to society.
