I thought prom and graduation were super overrated, but I can't imagine what it must feel like to be totally robbed of them. They are memories you carry with you your whole life and it is a part of American culture that everyone assumes they are going to experience. I really hope the class of 2020 gets to spend time with their friends this summer before going off to college.
As much as i didnt care about my graduation ceremony (High school and college), it sucks that those who do care about that sort of thing will never get to experience it in 2020, my wife included.
We were going to throw a massive party for her and those plans got canceled until further notice. Hell, they are trying to a do a "virtual ceremony" where the students log in via web chat and accept their diploma virtually.
Yeah, I do too. Those students left school one day and no one thought they would not be allowed to return for the end of the year. My son is in high school (not graduating this year) and was done March 12, they thought maybe a couple weeks off. Then they said May 4th and we thought that was a long break, but last week the MN governor said the rest of the year and I think we were all a bit disappointed. No one even got to say good bye.
They did get screwed and I wonder if it was even necessary for us to shut down schools, cancel prom, cancel spring sports, and cancel graduation ceremonies.
Don’t forget those who will leave for boot camp right after what would have been graduation. Some will not be around for the make up later in the year. I left two weeks after my graduation so I have a special place in my thoughts and prayers for those kids.
Good point. I remember my buddies who went off to the military were the bros I missed the most. Not being able to talk to them while the rest of the crew was chillin all summer really made you miss em.
After graduation, I had to wait until December to shipped off to boot camp.
Imagine spending Thanksgiving with your family, and Christmas with a bunch of people you dont know.
To make things worse, we lived right outside of the base, so just knowing my family was there celebrating Christmas while I was inside a fence being yelled at was just icing on the shit cake.
Felt like prison. But hey, at least we got to eat candy that day.
My graduating son leaves for the Army end of June. Go Army! Proud Army veteran dad who is proud of his son. He'll definitely will have our backs as he starts his military career (he's wearing Trump 2020 socks right now)!
Class of 2020 student here!
Cheers to ya! Hope your pending graduation is awesome. 🍺😁
🍻🍻! Cheers to you! Congratulations for making it though the indoctrination and coming here to celebrate. Best of luck to you, Pede!
2021 for me
Same here. Congrats fellow grad
This is exactly what I wanted. I love trump so much. Thanks for sharing!
Can't wait until we hear about how Trump is racist or sexist or transphobic or homophobic or xenophobic or bigoted or ageist for posting this.
In all seriousness, it's very nice of him to do that. The Class of 2020 got screwed, and they'll never be repaid those debts.
Trump is such an ageist. Only cares about young kids. Doesn't care about the old people.

What a load of crap.
Your wife is a high school graduate? Joe, is that you?
lol

What a huge bummer.
well, the entire class of 2020 just got fired from the WWE, damn. Hopefully some find a place in AEW or New Japan

I will admit, this does brighten up an otherwise bleak end to my high school career
Thanks for the post
I think u/Cajunmomof4 will be happy to see this. Her voice was not ignored. We really have a great President, don't we folks?
My daughter doesn’t like Trump. I’m going to enjoy sending this to her to get a annoyed reaction
Update: She left me on “Seen”
Thank you Mr. President
