As a millennial youth, I occasionally take part in twitch.tv. One of the streamers I used to interact with (around 250,000 followers) has/had a huge boner for Elon. Fast forward to the bolognavirus, this streamer took a 2 month break from twitch and started posting anti-Trump "TaKe ThIs SeRiOuSlY" posts on Twitter. I asked him his opinion of Elon Musk now, and... he blocked me lololol

Which streamer was this? I think that some of these internet personalities with large audiences have been paid to switch their focus to 'public awareness' with these fear mongering campaigns. If I am a person known for streaming video games, at a time like this, why would I decide it's prudent to become corona crier #435257? People want an escape from the prevailing subject and it would seem that you're missing out on a unique opportunity to generate views. Joe Rogan had some sort of scientist on early into COVID (I don't listen so idk his exact specialty but I think it was probably an epidemiologist) and my friends that listen were so quick to regurgitate this guest's assertion that "there was no way this virus was manmade. Nature can do a way better job." I just found it interesting how quick this talking point was pushed to the 2-3MM utes listening to JRE.

I think it's okay for people to be people and not party affiliations. I don't have to like everything about a person to generally like them. There are things about Elon I'm not 100% on, but generally I think he's a pretty alright dude. There's like, 2 things about Trump I don't care for, but I think he's the best president we've ever had.
Life isn't black and white, and people's support at one point in time doesn't make them a defacto enemy. In many cases, people of fame "support" politicians when they're ignorant. A lot of people thought Trump was going to be a bad president and came around. Maybe Musk is one of those people?
