Flu is typically hardest on those with zero acquired resistance (typically the very young) and those who have accumulated multiple health issues during their lifetime (typically the morbidly obese, the elderly and those with cardiovascular, pulmonary, and blood-sugar control issues).

CV-19 is novel, so a few months ago no-one had acquired resistance.

Yet the only groups being hit hard are the elderly and those with pre-existing conditions. That tells us that once we have some acquired resistance this will likely only be rough on the elderly and those with pre-existing conditions, and probably no worse than a typical flu when that group has some immunity.

Children are hospitalized less compared to the flu. Adults gets hospitalized more than with the flu. And the elderly gets hospitalized around the same. Interesting.
