Trump's "incompetence" is responsible for the pandemic huh?

Not the preceding 8 year O'Biden-Bama administration that did nothing to prepare?

Not China, The WHO, the mayor of NYC...

Only the chairman of Joe Biden's campaign would be stupid enough to think attacking Trump on this issue would work.

It won't. It will backfire.

CDC just lowered the us death toll from 60,000 to 37,000 with more reductions planned. I have a feeling the actual deaths from it are not even over 10,000 since there is so much reporting coming in of doctors and nurses padding the death stats by labeling unrelated deaths as covid.

It's everywhere but nobody scrolls over to see the column that says pneumonia and Covid. Smh

8
oxygen 8 points ago +8 / -0

Many people don't realize the CDC lumps pneumonia deaths with flu deaths. So every year when you hear 20,000 to 60,000 people in the US die per year from flu, it's false. Almost all (vast majority) are from pneumonia. I only just found this out. The real number of true flu deaths per year in the US is a few thousand. They do this because they have a financial inventive to get people to take flu shots every year. This, despite the fact flu shots don't even work most of the time because the flu strain in the vaccine is not the one in circulation by the time you take it (assuming they picked the right one to begin with). Vaccines also reduce your immunity to other infectious diseases due to the toxic chemicals contained within, and they admittedly work least effectively in old people. Even Bill Gates says that. Eat healthy, give your body nutrition, exercise, sunlight, good family and friends... You'll be fine.

3
usdodsgssog 3 points ago +6 / -3

I don't understand why people on here keep spreading this idea. I'm seeing it all over Twatter too. The CDC's count has always lagged well behind other reported counts. I thought this was common knowledge when everyone was looking at their data weeks ago.

4
linereddit 4 points ago +5 / -1

The 60,000+ numbers (currently 67,000) never came from the CDC. Rather, those numbers, widely reported as fact by the media, always came from worldometer.com, or from Johns Hopkins, who got them off worldometer and republished them as truth without a moment's review or verification.

The CDC numbers (currently ~37,000) ARE very dodgy, inflated by very shoddy statistical rigor, but not as obviously risible as the JH / worldometer numbers.

The CDC number has never been "lowered". It climbs a bit every day, Monday through Friday. I've watched it for several weeks. At no time in the past was it higher than you see it now.

I suspect that in addition to Dr. Fauci, there'll be a good number of people receiving their termination notice as of November 4th. I was thinking that Director Wray is on that list. Who else?

-6
catvideos3 -6 points ago +6 / -12

Dr. Erickson has no idea how statistics work. I’m not sure how he graduated Med school. People coming to his clinic are not an unbiased sample and his sample size is too small to be representative of California. When we share that video we look like we don’t understand statistics either.... we DO need to do random samples with a representative sample size though. I bet many more have antibodies than we might think. We should test this hypothesis.

6
robroy76 6 points ago +6 / -0

Dr. Erickson has no idea how statistics work. I’m not sure how he graduated Med school.

What statistics did they get wrong? I did not see their video but just read reports of it.

People coming to his clinic are not an unbiased sample and his sample size is too small to be representative of California.

Correct, testing just the people coming to their clinic would only be a sample of sick people. But the reports I saw had them commenting on national data.

we DO need to do random samples with a representative sample size though. I bet many more have antibodies than we might think.

We are doing large sample size testing and the data has (for the last week to ten days) shown that many more people have been infected and in most places the death rate is well below pneumonia/influenza levels, NY being the one and only place it is higher. But their data will be adjusted down or pulled out of calculations.

-1
catvideos3 -1 points ago +2 / -3

Watch Dr.Erickson’s video, then we can talk about statistically significant samples.

Watch Dr.Erickson’s video, then we can talk about statistically significant samples.

First, youtube says I am not allowed to see the video. Please provide a link.

Second, I asked you to point out the stats they got wrong. Please do so. The reports I have read quotes them as using national data.

Also, and I did mean to ask this before since you questioned their credentials, but also please point out the medicine they got wrong.

1
catvideos3 1 point ago +2 / -1

https://www.air.tv/watch?v=wiqwllvQQ4qYV0apYMuZSQ

He claims that he can use his non representative sample, the > 5000 people he has tested who came into his clinic, as a sample population that he can then extrapolate to indicate the infection rate of the larger population. That’s not how statistics works. You have to first have a correct sample size. You can look up how to determine sample size easily. Then you have to make sure that your sample population is representative of the larger population. If I test people who came to his urgent care clinic who felt ill, that is not representative of, say the larger population of the state of California.

To properly estimate the total infections in a state, you’d need a sample population with a large enough sample size and you’d have to randomly select people throughout the state to test them. Then you can make a hypothesis that you can guess the infection rate for the state. You still need to test this hypothesis by running tests on the data to prove the p-val which tests if the sample size has the same mean as the larger population.

An introductory class on statistics A/B tests and sample sizes will explain this better, but I can’t do that here.

1
catvideos3 1 point ago +1 / -0

See this article in reference to my earlier https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sample_size_determination

What they got wrong is the assumption that the results from their sample represents larger populations

I hope so. Statistics should be a prerequisite for any science since in Science fields the whole proposition is testing hypotheses.

I was a high school dropout, but I made it a point to study statistics and data science so I can understand how big decisions are made with limited time to analyze Data.

I recommend everyone to take an introduction to statistics and data science.

Thank you pede. It's nice to hear people question and fact check things that we wish to be true. I admit I wanted to believe what the Dr was saying was accurate but now I know he clearly screwed up big time. Unfortunately, that's not only going to hurt him but also anyone else trying to spread good information to masses. It now makes that person less trustworthy. I've always said, the internet is the greatest regurgitation machine ever devised. We can never be too sure of anything.

Fauci was central to the funding efforts at CDC that went into the Wuhan lab research. He KNEW the potential for a virus released into the world population. His attempt at damage control was just that. Control the damage that the 3.7m of funding approved during the Obama administration released.

6
Staatssicherheit 6 points ago +8 / -2

3 years? More like 30 years. The real question on why he didn't have the infrastructure ready (why Trump and Pence had to get personally involved in the nuts and bolts of pandemic testing) is the real slam on Fauci. All of this other ridiculous bullshit Bill Gates conspiracy crap I see here distracts from this point.

Oh wait...

15
KekistanPM 15 points ago +15 / -0

It caught me off guard too. According to all the MSM headlines, Trump has personally and unilaterally cut funding from federal and non-profit virus research programs.

When Obama does something similar, the MSM says "The Obama administration" cut funding. If it's really controversial then it's simply "Government funding was cut."

13

Biden's been in politics for over forty years and has been Vice President.

The naive me would think "Wow, with that experience he's probably sitting on hundreds of solutions to getting our country back on track, and is probably responsible for everything good happening."

The reality is "Just because someone's been somewhere for decades doesn't mean they're competent. The real people making things work are the tireless talent who give a damn about their jobs and really love this country. They know they're the last line of this country's defense from starvation, social anarchy and civil war."

Trump's incompetence, yet the EU, which might as well be considered a country - has about 100 more million people than the US but FAR MORE DEATHS

Weird, these people are constantly saying we need to be more like Europe - but they've been oddly silent on that take as of late.

If Trump is incompetent, what does that make all the EU leaders? You can't have it both ways, they would have to be way more incompetent if Trump is also incompetent

The fact of the matter is if the US had a dem as a president, we would have 5x more deaths, and they'd be shutting down the economy for the rest of the year.

I can not express just how lucky we are to have Trump in charge during this pandemic - things would be so much worse right now. They'd be trying their hardest to take this pandemic as an excuse to turn our country into a communist one
