Not that rare actually, Venezuela and the whole area around it are extremely anti-socialist. Brazil straight up elected a "Tropical Trump" in a verifiable landslide and even Mexico is filled mostly with Catholic conservatives (although the cities are festering with liberals, much like our own big cities here).
Trump is doing MUCH better with the latin crowds than past conservatives. As someone from that world, I can tell you we've still got lots of work to do, but it's been glorious to witness.
