I have been hearing some variation of this for years. They claim that our weapons are so inferior that it is basically pointless to have them.

Ignoring the fact that self protection is an inalienable right provided by god and protected by the constitution. Ignoring that it is my legally acquired property. Ignoring that most of the military are gun owners themselves and would disobey that order. Ignoring that every form of prohibition this country has tried on any social activity has failed spectacularly....

Let's just look at that particular point in more detail

You can't beat the army

Your ar won't affect a tank

You'd never get close to the president

All of which are completely true. But also completely irrelevant to what a gun means in a situation like that.

I don't have to beat the army. I just have to make the country ungovernable. And as we saw with the armed protests, sometimes that doesn't even require firing a shot.

One man with one gun(or no gun if hes a good actor) can barricade himself in a building and get dozens of police officers off the streets for hours.

Rice fields and desert caves have taught the military that advanced tech isn't an instant win button. And on home territory it's worse.

The political class lives in this country. And while I will never be able to get to them, I dont have to.

There are plenty of soft targets that cannot be protected. Most revolutionary movements start with graffiti campaigns before there is any fighting. Defacing the rulers favored places and leaving messages to unsettle.

If we get to American revolution part 2: electric boogaloo it will not matter that my gun is worse than their gun, or that they have a bunker. It will matter that I have some means to make myself ungovernable

The suits made it difficult for the uniforms to win those wars. That said, the original constitution forbade a standing Army during peacetime. John Adams obviously created the Navy in order to annihilate the Pirates of North Africa, but the Prince of Neufchatel was a private merchant ship outfitted for war with cannons and artillery. She even had the blessing of James Madison in order to frustrate the British Royal Navy. All this is to say that civillians should be able to privately own not only cannons and artillery, but literal warships. Hell yeah!

I'm sure it was a pretty formative life experience for the Michigan legislators who had to slap on bulletproof vests because the citizenry caught them off guard. Now they know it can be done and they'll think twice before they fuck around because they had a preview on the find out portion.

I must have missed it. What happened in Michigan?

In one frightening scene, several men armed with rifles made their way into the public gallery and began shouting at senators on the floor beneath them, according to an account by one lawmaker.

“Directly above me, men with rifles yelling at us,” Michigan State Senator Dayna Polehanki wrote on Twitter, sharing a photo of the demonstrators.

Good. I'm glad that display of righteousness struck the fear of God into those creeps. Now they know how us commoners feel when we look at them ruling over us as tyrants.

I wonder how Dayna Polehanki would feel if I stripped her of her livelihood and she was helpless to stop me. Would she feel afraid when she looks at me? Because that's exactly what I feel when I look at her.

A quarantine has never been imposed upon a healthy populace before in all of history. I am so sick and tired of these Dems.

Maybe I have misplaced faith in the secret service, but I feel like if they weren't good at their jobs there would be a lot more dead politicians
