Insulin sensitivity changes over life. Pancreatic activity changes. If the pancreas is damaged or overworked for a very long period of time, it slowly produces less and less insulin. This can usually be remedied by a keto diet, which would fully relieve the pressure.

Type 1 diabetes is autoimmune and we know neither the cause nor the cure.

Regardless, fats and meats are the solution, not the problem. All bread/sugar/vegetables are contributors, as people don't seem to know how to take a break.

I don't know why you are downvoted. Your question is fair and I happily have helped 6 or so people reverse their type 2 diabetes.
