The fears and dread that's been sustained through media and "experts" over the past several weeks still persist. Even if all of America, and much of the world outside China, were to reopen tomorrow, it would mean nothing if most everyone thinks a "Second Wave" is imminent or that going out is perceived as a death sentence.
The new challenge now would be to persuade people, not just "consumer confidence" but also in terms of morale and well-being if the economy can truly restart.
No need. Most Americans are over it and the rest will follow shortly thereafter.
If Karen doesn't want to go out, Karen can stay inside and be miserable for all I care. It may even save some restaurant soem money on all the gift cards and comps Karen will demand.
Except nothing has reopened.
I work with well educated people who cannot grasp this simple truth. Millions of people have been infected with the virus. That means you WILL be exposed to the virus. You can venture out of your house next month or next year (or be thrown out when the bank takes it) and you won't find the virus gone.
What you will find is a nastier virus because it has been given the time to mutate and survive human hosts better. Forget herd immunity- that window is slowly closing the longer we stay in lock down.
Be a good example for your neighbors.
Open it up. The concern and worry will wash away in time.
nothing is reopened, just a few carrots thrown to the plebs in NJ. cant open your "non essential business" but hey you can walk 6+ft apart in the park now
My other comment got the downvotes. 25% open is not f'ing open. Sorry people.
It's a death sentence. Greater cost to address all the ridiculous bs and it's illegal to have good business.
Wife and I went to our favorite little TexMex place today. I'd really missed the best mole enchiladas in town. The more people get out the more people will get out and help return us to normalcy.
Shouldn’t be an issue in FL but judging what I am reading from some of these blue states, Karen needs to BTFO
Our county in a certain midwest state is aiming higher than most with 50% capacity allowed. Most places in town would love to have that even during better times. All but a few of the more popular places could be back to normal - IF people actually go out.
wait 'til karen's kids start in on her: but mommy, everyone else is going swimming/playing soccer/to sleepovers...
Uh, in Texas, I saw half the folks who are usually out wearing masks. Only half when it was like 99% before. We're on the way pedes.
