The problem with complying with registration and licensing is that the powerful can have them revoked. I will not comply with registration or licensing for second amendment rights. That does put me in a quandary about voter registration, which I do, but don't like.

It goes beyond "what industry". The pharma industry is rythmed by patents. Pharma corps need new patents to keep the money coming in. HCQ isn't patented anymore and doesn't bring nearly as much money to the original patent holder. A new vaccine is way more attractive for pharma corps financially speaking.

It's been around for seventy years. Modern Pharma would have discarded it 63 years ago because it wouldn't make them tons of money. Anyway, it doesn't require lifetime treatment which is their holy grail.
If Big Pharma actually cares about people and cures, we'd have far more. But it's not nearly as profitable as lifetime treatment with expensive treatments or better yet, multiple pills to treat every disease with 5% effectiveness.

People are catching on, and it's not going to end well. Yesterday, both my father and uncle, two "normies," (albeit conservative) both texted me for information about firearms. They are both finally not just ready, but understand they need to be armed and protected. Again, they're both conservative, but always fell in the "I live in a nice neighborhood, guns are kinda scary, so I support the 2A but personally don't want or need a firearm." Not anymore. They're about to be armed to the teeth, and have both already spoken about how, if and when this kind of shit goes down and shit hits the fan, they're ready to basically buy acres and acres of land, have family members like my fiancee and me move onto it, and live as self-sufficiently as possible.
Given all of our backgrounds and expertise, I have no doubt we can be successful with this, too (ranging from farming and hunting skills, my uncle is a developer/contractor so infrastructure/building isn't an issue, engineers and doctors in the family, multiple of us have mechanic backgrounds, etc etc).
Yeah, unfortunately this virus really screwed me. I've got a good job, but it's seasonal, and ends in a couple weeks (not starting again until september). Was about to get 1 of 3 really great jobs I applied to, all paying fantastic, and then this virus broke out and every company stopped hiring. It honestly fucked my brain up more than any drugs I did in my teens/early 20s (I had a mean addiction, got clean about 7-8 years ago). To be clear, I'm not saying autism isn't real, but I DO genuinely think a lot diagnosed with it, really don't have it, and simply never developed social skills because of things like porn, internet, video games, cell phones/texting, etc (all things that I think are fine in moderation, and I still partake in, but they've become too widespread and influential). Kids today can't even make a phone call, or never talked to their friends' parents growing up, because they never had to. Those small things stunt growth/development of social skills. Hell, I know people that won't even order pizza/delivery if they don't have online/app ordering, and have to instead, god forbid, make a phone call and talk to a human. I've also worked with younger/gen Z kids, who are basically A-sexual and don't even care about finding a girl, because they've become so complacent and desensitized. I didn't blame it, I even stated that I fully take accountability, and blamed myself/recognized that to overcome said "betaness" (further, if that's "a lot of words," may I suggest online discussion boards aren't for you). I've felt for a long time that the issue of ID is critical to the internet infrastructure.
It can go one of two ways: IDs that can map to humans. And IDs that are impossible to trace.
If we build the ID system of the future, we can have untraceable IDs. This would mean humanity would be impossible to control. Imagine 4chan, everywhere, running for office, voting, etc...

It all comes down to blockchain technology. Its impact will be bigger than the internet. The biggest factor: does a decentralized platform, like Ethereum, win out? I think it all comes down to trust. Who are people willing to trust for ID? If it's the government, then we are screwed. If it's each other, then we'll do fine.
One "dream" I had is what would happen if everyone ran their own bank? And not just one bank, but thousands? Each bank would issue its own currency, and rate the value of other bank's currencies. In order for two banks to arrange a transfer of funds, they would have to either trade currencies with each other or find a third party willing to trade in currencies they trust.
I remember back in the day, in the early 2000s, when people used PGP to encrypt their messages and sign them. You put your trust not in people but in their public keys. No government could control that sort of arrangement. No government can take a key, and if they did, it would be milliseconds until that key would lose all trust.
Your dream is essentially what decentralized blockchain accomplishes, just as decentralized blockchain would be a system in which we "trust each other," as opposed to the government. And even that isn't so much true, as it's trusting an immutable, permanent ledger where the data/info can not be changed or altered. As for "there are no secrets," it depends on the blockchain we're talking about. True, bitcoin isn't anonymous as they originally claimed, but plenty others are completely anonymous. But anonymity isn't the biggest issue here, anyway. The use cases are almost infinite, too, some of them already occuring (Brave Browser is a great example of a primitive use of blockchain tech and how it could influence how we consume information and interact with the internet)

I think the question of "trust" is key here. If Internet 3.0 is not trustworthy, it's dead on arrival. People need trust. They need privacy. They need security. And they need freedom. These things all contradict each other, but we want it all.
It's all good, you should question this kind of stuff. It's not so much trusting a large group of people, but trusting an immutable ledger in which every transaction (monetary or not, ethereum works more as an "if/then" contract) is verified hundreds of times across hundreds of computers across the network. The only real issue is scalability. Trust, privacy, security, and freedom, are all things a proper, scalable, decentralized blockchain system can deliver. Even bitcoin can be anonymous, if using a trading platform that's decentralized and not requiring a third party (like coinbase) to buy and sell, and these already exist (further, I can guarantee the funds held on my ledger/wallet are safer, and near impossible to tie their ownership to me, then my bank account. And I can use those funds to open a CDP/low interest loan myself, acting as my own bank. I even loaned myself 10k not long ago that, in the end, I actualy made money on); but even beyond that, there are currencies like monero and blockchain tokenized systems that can be built upon like ethereum. You're absolutely right to be skeptical, and as I noted in my first comment, blockchain can be equally as evil as it's potential to be amazing, depending on how it works. But there are already a number of ones that, if scalable (which remains to be seen), will accomplish everything you're asking for. People are catching on, and it's not going to end well. Yesterday, both my father and uncle, two "normies," (albeit conservative) both texted me for information about firearms. They are both finally not just ready, but understand they need to be armed and protected. Again, they're both conservative, but always fell in the "I live in a nice neighborhood, guns are kinda scary, so I support the 2A but personally don't want or need a firearm." Not anymore. They're about to be armed to the teeth, and have both already spoken about how, if and when this kind of shit goes down and shit hits the fan, they're ready to basically buy acres and acres of land, have family members like my fiancee and me move onto it, and live as self-sufficiently as possible.
Given all of our backgrounds and expertise, I have no doubt we can be successful with this, too (ranging from farming and hunting skills, my uncle is a developer/contractor so infrastructure/building isn't an issue, engineers and doctors in the family, multiple of us have mechanic backgrounds, etc etc).

Yeah, unfortunately this virus really screwed me. I've got a good job, but it's seasonal, and ends in a couple weeks (not starting again until september). Was about to get 1 of 3 really great jobs I applied to, all paying fantastic, and then this virus broke out and every company stopped hiring. I've also worked with younger/gen Z kids, who are basically A-sexual and don't even care about finding a girl, because they've become so complacent and desensitized. I've felt for a long time that the issue of ID is critical to the internet infrastructure.
It can go one of two ways: IDs that can map to humans. And IDs that are impossible to trace.
If we build the ID system of the future, we can have untraceable IDs. This would mean humanity would be impossible to control. Imagine 4chan, everywhere, running for office, voting, etc...
If the government has its way, then privacy will be an unthinkable concept.
It all comes down to blockchain technology. Its impact will be bigger than the internet. The biggest factor: does a decentralized platform, like Ethereum, win out? Or does a centralized system developed by the likes of Gates or Cuckerberg win? If we have a true, decentralized blockchain platform backing basically internet 3.0, then I believe we'll have a true golden age. And if a centralized system? Basically roll 1984, blade runner, terminator, total recall, brave new world, minority report, and every dystopian novel, all into one

One "dream" I had is what would happen if everyone ran their own bank? And not just one bank, but thousands? Each bank would issue its own currency, and rate the value of other bank's currencies. Your dream is essentially what decentralized blockchain accomplishes, just as decentralized blockchain would be a system in which we "trust each other," as opposed to the government. And even that isn't so much true, as it's trusting an immutable, permanent ledger where the data/info can not be changed or altered. As for "there are no secrets," it depends on the blockchain we're talking about. True, bitcoin isn't anonymous as they originally claimed, but plenty others are completely anonymous. But anonymity isn't the biggest issue here, anyway. The use cases are almost infinite, too, some of them already occuring (Brave Browser is a great example of a primitive use of blockchain tech and how it could influence how we consume information and interact with the internet)

Trust each other: We're really not trusting each other. If I know you, and you know me, and we trust each other, blockchain does nothing. Blockchain is about putting your trust in a large group of people -- a large group that CAN be manipulated by someone with practically infinite resources -- governments, large corps, etc...
I think the question of "trust" is key here. If Internet 3.0 is not trustworthy, it's dead on arrival. People need trust. They need privacy. They need security. And they need freedom. These things all contradict each other, but we want it all.
It's all good, you should question this kind of stuff. It's not so much trusting a large group of people, but trusting an immutable ledger in which every transaction (monetary or not, ethereum works more as an "if/then" contract) is verified hundreds of times across hundreds of computers across the network. The only real issue is scalability. Trust, privacy, security, and freedom, are all things a proper, scalable, decentralized blockchain system can deliver. Even bitcoin can be anonymous, if using a trading platform that's decentralized and not requiring a third party (like coinbase) to buy and sell, and these already exist (further, I can guarantee the funds held on my ledger/wallet are safer, and near impossible to tie their ownership to me, then my bank account. And I can use those funds to open a CDP/low interest loan myself, acting as my own bank. I even loaned myself 10k not long ago that, in the end, I actualy made money on); but even beyond that, there are currencies like monero and blockchain tokenized systems that can be built upon like ethereum. You're absolutely right to be skeptical, and as I noted in my first comment, blockchain can be equally as evil as it's potential to be amazing, depending on how it works. But there are already a number of ones that, if scalable (which remains to be seen), will accomplish everything you're asking for.
