I don't think she's in line for the VP slot. Whether she knows it or not, she's become too much of a controversial hot topic who will overshadow any Presidential nominee in a poor way. However, she can play a very important role as a test dummy for the Dems.

She's being used to test how well their new propaganda vectors might be received by the public and media (mainstream and alternative). Will Midwesterners in a swing state lay down and just accept six more weeks of lockdown? Can we add a sexist component to this Covid situation? Can we get away with calling lockdown protesters racist? Can we divide "essential" workers from everyone else (like by calling for free college for essentials via a new Marshall Plan scheme)?

There's still a lot of work for Whitmer to do. I look forward to her career ending soon in flames, and I'm positive the Pelosis and Clintons of the world are expecting that and don't really care.
