We're talking places where 25% of the people smoke, but only 5% of the people going to the hospital for bat-flu are smokers. They shut down the largest homeless shelter in Phoenix due to concerns for COVID (but never heard of an outbreak), causing what looks like hundreds and hundreds of homeless to be on the streets just in front of the shelter. It’s tent after tent as far as you can see down the street, stacked up right on top of each other. It looks a lot like camping, they have some communal makeshift fire pits that people gather round. I was there just last week

Phoenix should be where the real reports come from. Wearing masks was simply a suggestion out here and I haven't seen anything crazy. We are the 5th largest city in the whole country and we haven't had nearly the same volume of cases as the other 4 major cities. I only wear a mask at work because I'm a medical assistant. But even the providers I work for are calling bullshit and only require us to wear masks when there are patients in the office.
