If the retarded ADA mandates I have to sit next to some psychologically-stunted faggot with his emotional support squirrel on a commercial flight, then you’re gonna have to just deal with my not wearing a mask in public because of my asthma.

you should read “Letters from a Nut” - it’s got TONS of customer service letters like this!

E.g. guy mails the Ritz Carlton requesting a room where he can bring his own mattress because he tends to eat his mattresses and doesn’t want to incur a fee.

My emotional support Wuhan bat does not wear a mask because bat to human transmission is impossible (it requires a Communist virus lab to do that).

Even with the understanding that the Chinese eat some sick shit, it boggles my mind that, to some, bat soup was a more believable source of the KungFlu than the damn CDC & Virology labs in Wuhan.

I don't have to lie. I actually have Sleep Apnea and COPD, though not as severe as it used to be. The mask is OK for a couple of minutes, but I get short of breath if forced to wear it much longer than that. I usually just wear it through the door to avoid the well intentioned who just don't want to be shut down by local tyrants. But once through the door, the mask hangs to the side and is only worn if I feel a cough coming on.

I've been fortunate to live in a state that understands the difference between encouragement to act and requirement to act. It leaves the citizen the right to adjust based on personal situations like mine without threat of incarceration or theft of funds by illegal fines.

Good idea.

I am thinking of taking a different approach with a variant. Our local CCW organization provides business cards for gun owners to leave with managers of stores and restaurants informing them that they lost a customer due to "no guns" signage. A similar message for "mandatory masks" would be nice.

34
LArnix 34 points ago +34 / -0

it wont be long and we can just say something like it triggers my memory of being kidnapped or some other SJW bs! Its worth a shot.

25
Tonightm01 25 points ago +28 / -3

Take your business somewhere else.

Don't wear a fucking mask if you actually have breathing problems for the love of God. You will drop from a heart attack in the warm weather.

10
Vests123 10 points ago +10 / -0

What if it's required to wear in all stores?

After a few minutes, I get a little short of breath when wearing my mask to grocery shop...I have to wear it in order to get inside the store.

It's a horrible experience shopping these days.

8
Scroon 8 points ago +9 / -1

I've got two methods now.

  1. Just don't wear a mask and walk in. Even in Commie-fornia, most places don't have anyone watchdogging the door. And if they do, they often don't seem to care or pay attention. Most of the time it's smooth sailing from there. Occassionally you'll get a Karen telling you to put a mask on, but when that happens, I ask politely if they're saying I'm not allowed to shop there. If they tell me no, not without a mask, I leave my shopping items where they are and walk out.

  2. Sheer fabric over the entire head....I use fabric that looks opaque from the outside. This freaks people put because they can't see your eyes. The benefit is that there's actually a big open air space below your mouth and nose. As you walk the fabric "swooshes", and you get fresh air. Yes, I know this is basically a burqa, but we gotta take this to one extreme or the other to wake people up.

2
misterLahey 2 points ago +2 / -0

most places don't have anyone watchdogging the door. And if they do, they often don't seem to care or pay attention

Same in Commieginia. Some groceries do have a flunkie sitting out front to count customers and ask them to wear masks. All of these flunkies just sit outside texting and barely look at anybody entering the store, let alone say a single word to them. The only place that has given me any grief was my bank who wouldn't let me in without using hand sanitzer, and "kindly" asked me to wear a mask next time I visit. LOL, not happening.

1
Vests123 1 point ago +1 / -0

I wish I could do this.

In this area, I would be asked immediately to put it back on. It's a very heavy D area. Not sure I could wear the sheer fabric all over.

People walk, run and ride their bikes outside with masks on.

6
Hiraeth 6 points ago +6 / -0

Genuinely, pit it on at the door, take it off as soon as you pass the threshold.

4
Aeronomer 4 points ago +4 / -0

Then all you have to worry about is the Karens inside

1
Hiraeth 1 point ago +1 / -0

People can be upset. Let them be upset

2
Aeronomer 2 points ago +2 / -0

I'm not going to listen to a bunch of lip from some Karen because I refuse to wear a mask.

1
Hiraeth 1 point ago +1 / -0

Then walk away? If they want to be mad, they can be mad. It shouldn't have any effect on you or your day, keep walking.

3
Vests123 3 points ago +3 / -0

I wish I could do this. I live in an area that as soon as I would do that, I probably would have a swarm of people freaking out and asking me to put it on again or running to the manager.

People actually walk outside with their dogs or riding their bikes with masks on...it's so crazy.

1
traveravis 1 point ago +1 / -0

I actually made this very point regarding their stupid arrows and my arthritic knees. The words "reasonable accommodation" are in the act. Walking 20 feet when no persons are present against the arrow rather than 80 feet when my knees are killing me is a "reasonable accommodation"!

Repeat after me REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION...

9

I've got absolutely trash knees, but I'm out of the loop here. What's this arrow thing you mention?

22
HotNismo 22 points ago +22 / -0

A lot of stores have taped arrows on their floors to show you which directions you are "allowed to walk".

I make a point to walk the wrong way the entire time I'm in a store with them.

4
HonkeytonkMonkey 4 points ago +4 / -0

How dare you excersise common sense? The governments have been "hard at work" spending what's left of our taxes on programs that have no effect and stores have been spending thousands of dollars on duct tape to lead you around like a retarded sheep. Common sense just downplays all that hard work. Please be more considerate and follow the arrow like a good NPC.

Reminder that masks are only meant to prevent YOU from spreading.

If you are clean, wearing a mask does nothing.

1
Shivore 1 point ago +1 / -0

How do you know you're clean though? We all know you can have a disease, and be contagious, and not have symptoms. That doesn't even just apply to COVID.

Don't get me wrong, mandating people must wear masks is stupid and overreaching. However it isn't as simple as "Wear a mask if you feel bad, otherwise no point"

Nice post!

The elements of this type of ADA claim are laid out here.

https://www.cd-lawyers.com/americans-with-disabilities-act-lawyers/title-iii-ada-claims/

Any store requiring or not making a reasonable accommodation for people like myself have huge exposure. I can only wear a mask in situations that require it. Real pandemics, gimp play, dress-up with children etc, My mental health will not tolerate something other than that.

4
memechallenger33 4 points ago +4 / -0

Frankly, I just can’t breathe at all. I go for a leisurely walk and I’m hugging and puffing and out of breath. Then I take off the mask and I can breath again. I don’t have any conditions that I know of, other than being an American Citizen, born with certain unalienable rights.

3
novaks47 3 points ago +3 / -0

I used to work retail when I as young, let me fill you all in : Employees can't do shit to stop you. They're not even allowed to intervene when someone is blatantly stealing shit, beyond words. Now, they can talk to you, and a manager may try to stop you, verbally. Nobody can lay a finger on you. If the store has a self checkout, even better, now they can't even stop you from purchasing anything.

I'm not saying to go in and be a douche nozzle to them, as they don't get paid shit and probably don't agree with all the corporate crap either. Hell, the majority probably won't even say anything, unless they're an NPC Karen.

I figure worst case, they call the cops and you get hit with a trespass order. If you're polite, I doubt it would come to that.

2

But I will tend to err on the side of not responding to any loser who confronts me about being a plain-bellied Sneetch.

2
PokemonGoToThePolls 2 points ago +3 / -1

By Law, can’t a store deny you entry or service if they require you to wear a mask? Isn’t it technically their rite to dictate who they service too. Like no shirt/no shoes no service?

4
Chancehappeneth 4 points ago +4 / -0

But not for the purpose of discrimination against protected groups such as refusing service by skin color or disability.

A person with legit heart or lung issues, or claustrophobia or anxiety and panic disorders has legal cause to sue for denial of service for a mandatory mask policy.

If people start "fainting" in store while wearing a mandatory mask, the threat of a lawsuit may be enough to stop the policy.

3
Keep_on_winning_kag 3 points ago +3 / -0

Maybe people should start fainting more often...hmmm

14
de9ebkmd7 14 points ago +14 / -0

Wrong. The Michigan dictate says anyone "medically able" which I interpret that anxiety caused by the mask is a medical condition where I don't need to wear a mask.

2
Gyrfalcon 2 points ago +2 / -0

The Michigan dictate says anyone "medically able" which I interpret that anxiety caused by the mask is a medical condition where I don't need to wear a mask.

So does the Costco dictate. But it's just "able" IIRC for Michigan. I don't believe it's limited to medical. For other stores, I'd do as suggested above, wear the mask to get in the door, then play Karen and go see the manager. Explain why their policy is problematic and give them a copy of the card info. I'd reprint it without the red. You want to simply make the aware, not be obnoxious.

2
Plutossextape1 2 points ago +2 / -0

I tried a mask for 5 minutes when I had to go into my office and started having a panic attack and difficulty breathing.

7
Erikabodereka 7 points ago +7 / -0

Not really. If the ADA says that a business can't discriminate against someone with a disability, in this case the inability to wear a mask, then that store must allow that person to shop.

Scroon 4 points ago +6 / -2

It's not like asking them for a gay wedding cake. When walking into a store without a mask, you're not asking the business to perform any specific or unusual service. You just want to buy one of their cakes.

A better analogy would be walking into a business without shoes or a shirt and having them refuse service.

However, shirts and shoes are American social and hygienic standards. Masks are fucking Middle East bullshit and interfere with physiological function.

3
Wanderlust 3 points ago +4 / -1

The gay wedding cake was a special order. And they shopped around to find a vendor that didn't like the idea.

Also TD.w: I want to force a business to let me in.

15
SpaceForceZulu 15 points ago +15 / -0

Their side uses asymmetric tactics all the time, why should we tie our own hands? All’s fair in love and war.

Anyway, these businesses are ordering mask usage because they fear retribution from their government, not because they have some principled reason.

1
IllKissYourBoobies 1 point ago +1 / -0

Because being principled is what distinguishes.

This idealistic flip flop wreaks of Dem tactics.

4
catfoodsoup 4 points ago +4 / -0

I think the line is suing the company to force them to let you inside. The left could complain all they want to that poor baker they harass, but they take it further and sue repeatedly. This card thing is more of a civil protest than anything else. The way I see it, businesses can still do as they please, they can refuse service, whatever. If anything it might make them take more responsibility for the policy themselves, instead of hiding solely behind public health.

3
Scroon 3 points ago +4 / -1

You're bringing up a good point (too bad a out the downvotes). But the issue here isn't about forcing private businesses to accept our chosen behavior. It's about waking up the population at large.

Disobedience, stubbornness, and refusal to go with the flow must be seen in order for it to spread. And while I know that technically a private business should be able to set a dress code if desired, this shit has gone too far. They're being idiots, and we need to tell them so.
