HR wanted us to put our preferred pronouns in our email signature. I refused - they can put 2+2 together and figure out that I’m male. Yeah that was dropped so quickly and I haven’t heard another peep since. Just let me code in peace.
The amount of diversity and inclusion BS in the workplace is irritating to me. Stop telling me we need to interview candidates that look like X Y and Z. I want the smartest candidate and who I think will be the best fit on my team. I dont care if they're blue, purple, from planet vulcan, etc. Are they intellectually curious? Can they work independently? Do they understand basic data visualizations?
My wife has an interview this week in the tech field to float her while she preps to take the MCAT. She is definitely going to slip some girl power shit in there. The company she is interviewing with eats it up... more than the fact that she’s actually competent and will legitimately work on a problem until she finds a solution that actually is efficient.
