Here in Bend Oregon where we have not had a new Covid patient in three weeks we are locked down indefinitely. Summer is all but cancelled. Summer is where the bulk of money is made on tourism. One bad summer will cause an avalanche of store closures and bankruptcy. All the comment sections are blaming Republicans. They will reap what they sow.

From the article:

"Governors who received high marks for protecting their economies from devastation include Jared Polis of Colorado (A), a Democrat, joined by Republicans Ron DeSantis of Florida (A), Brian Kemp of Georgia (A), Pete Ricketts of Nebraska (A), Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma (A), Kristi Noem of South Dakota (A), Bill Lee of Tennessee (A), Greg Abbott of Texas (B), and Mark Gordon of Wyoming (A).

The governors who received lower grades for putting their states in the most economic peril are Phil Murphy of New Jersey (F), Tom Wolf of Pennsylvania (F), Ralph Northam of Virginia (F), and Tony Evers of Wisconsin (F). California Governor Gavin Newsom of California (D), and Andrew Cuomo of New York (C). The worst performing Republican governor was Larry Hogan of Maryland (D)."

Phil Murphy of NJ (D-). I Only didn't give him a straight F because well, he "opened" the parks (with terms and conditions) but the rest of this time he has been complete shit.

NEW JERSEY:F “New Jersey’s stay-at-home order does not have an end date. Gov. Phil Murphy (D) has said “there will be blood on our hands” if the order is lifted too soon” 44 (The Hill)

There needs to b e HARD DEADLINES to all phases of reopening. No allowance for a Governor to backtrack because "yeah we reached that goal but just barely, I want to wait a couple more weeks to ensure it stays", or "people aren't obeying my edicts, 2 more weeks of punishment!"

THE ECONOMY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING. IT MUST OPEN.

"Well, at least you have your health" is not a comfort when you're broke, jobless and about to be evicted from your home.
