It's worth noting that the CDC numbers are certainly inflated, as well, per their own footnote #1 -
(1) Deaths with confirmed or presumed COVID-19...
"Presumed" is a mighty big word, in this context. The CDC blithely includes New York City in their totals, as though that locale doesn't merit separate attention and great skepticism.
