Can I sue the school district now when my kid catches a cold? I'm sure they did something to not keep her SAFE!!!

kag-2020- 49 points ago +53 / -4

I'm kind of torn on this because I hope public schools are dealt with harshly. But at the same time, that's completely unreasonable.

The biggest problem we face is people want government to raise their kids.

20
Marshall 20 points ago +23 / -3

Unfortunately, most mothers think of school as babysitters and fear actually trying to spend time with them by teaching them.

The definition of Mother has changed from a nurturer to a bitch.

Fucking savage. Love it. Only thing i would add is the ones who get engaged and never marry, raking in that single mom passive income along with a loser that makes $10-$12/hr. The dudes usually have kids themselves. Used to work with tons of women like this. They were all complete whores

6
JKillen 6 points ago +6 / -0

BWAHAHA...

More and more I think Jesus is doing me a favor keeping me single.

All my dates, like 80%...single moms, some wonderful women but I'm so unwilling to take that on.

I went out with a beautiful asian girl who was like 27 and had 2 kids from 2 dads. My mom was single too but she worked for the goddam Navy and it wasn't fair being the discipline and nurturer for her. I had many a nights we ate at burger king or ate fast food or tv dinners.

I was VERY fortunate to have amazing neighbors and spend every weekend with dad.

Never had that family unit though and it fucked me up just like the experts said it would.

Now I'm 33 and I see it full circle.

Main difference I see in healthy couples and unhealthy stories? God. Or lack therof, respectively. Even in blended families the ones who have God in the middle and up top tend to have some semblance of sanity.

This is true and no one teaches kids responsibility anymore it seems. That started going out the window in the 90s and replaced with feelings. It became all about little Johnny or Jainie's feelings and nothing is their fault it's always someone or something else that's causing them to act out or fail. It's the "everyone gets a trophy" generation today, and I'm not even that old and I notice it everywhere.

i am sure that is some of it. But others have no option but to send kids to public school. granted the public schools in my area are outstanding so it isnt too bad

13
GrabLifeByThePussy 13 points ago +14 / -1

People only think that they don't have an option because we're under the impression that private schools too expensive for most people to be able to afford.

As Trump is indicating, if people simply have more of their own money to spend, the additional cost of things like private school might not be as much of a factor.

If businesses were able to eliminate payroll tax entirely, they could reallocate those funds towards higher wages. So if a combination of higher wages plus lower taxes were to take effect, the average American worker would have a lot more disposable income and they can use that money to help offset the cost of private school.

Even people here can't help but look at the world through the same broken prism that we were raised in. A lot of people can't think about the way the world could be because we only ever known the way that it is.

Imagine the United States with no payroll tax Imagine a United States with a constitutional cap on income tax at 5% or 10% Imagine if the cost of building permits was only $100 imagine if restaurants were actually able to give their leftover inventory to the homeless and the needy instead of being forced to throw it out

imagine if instead of social security people had a forced savings account they could tap into during crisis exactly like the one that everyone is experiencing right now

Imagine a United States where the cost of going to a regular university is only $2,000 per semester

Imagine a United States where the interest rate on a mortgage is 1%

Imagine a United States where our savings aren't constantly being devalued by the endless printing of more money

Imagine what this country could be if it was being run by competent, intelligent, good hearted people instead of the assholes that are currently running it now.

Moreover, private schools won't be expensive anymore if all kids attend private schools (scale and free competition).

Abolish governments from starting any more 'free' programs - education, health, retirement, housing.

2
TrumpVoter1 2 points ago +2 / -0

Until Trump many of us didn't have that money for private school.

2
d_lock 2 points ago +2 / -0

You have it backwards, others have no option because they're forced to pay for public school, even if they choose to pay for charter or private schools.

3
TrumpVoter1 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yes our local and state taxes funded public schools. If that wasn't in place then it would have helped to be able to private

flu and coronavirus are arguably indistinguishable in terms of mortality, many symptoms, and most non-advanced treatments, yet there isn't a rush to indemnify businesses and institutions from 'risk' associated with operating and the possibility of someone getting the 'flu' while at my establishment. Why is that? Why are we complacently supporting this transfer of MONEY (away from) and RISK (to) the GOVERNMENT? Odd.

It's really only the city that is the problem. Unfortunately this will impact the entire state.

15
Steven_IDGAF_Miller 15 points ago +16 / -1

It's a NY Democrat problem. The superintendent of an Upstate city school district near me decided on his own to overspend his approved budget by over 30 million last year. His explanation after he was caught was that he would just get the state to cover the difference. The state told the school district to suck eggs and now they're fucked.

i agree with this.

Georgia needs financial help right now and not bailing new york or cali. We cannot afford it and cannot go into debt even if we could (Yay for Balanced Budget Amendment). This kungflu bullshit has hurt the entire state bad. Revenue loss is almost unprecedented. State agencies have been told to submit budget reduction proposals of 14% for FY2021, no exceptions, which means many employees face layoffs and/or furloughs as part of this reduction. And many businesses have just outright failed with tons of people are unemployed. Lord only knows what the hospitals are going to be facing as there losses have to be extremely bad as well.

Don't forget the public employee unions and their massive pensions. My wife's aunt and uncle have lived like potentates for years after being college teachers in California. Guess which party they support with slobbering and howling.

20
One_Man_Militia 20 points ago +20 / -0

Being part of a union should be my choice as well. In California I must and shall pay union dues, even when my union doesn't bargain in good faith! They don't even file grievances or enforce time limits when I demand as my right! But the union executives get nice raises and cush jobs that's for damn sure.

7
flashersenpai 7 points ago +7 / -0

Are you sure about that? AFSME lost their case on mandatory dues at the supreme court if I'm remembering correctly.

0
Grief 0 points ago +1 / -1

Sue their ass, it's unconstitutional. Why people roll over because the Dems said so is beyond me. They can't steal your money for dues without providing a service YOU agree to. If they are doing that, it's illegal.

0
One_Man_Militia 0 points ago +1 / -1

We're not a right to work state... "California is not a right to work state. This means that in California, workers may be barred from specific workplaces if they choose not to join the labor unions associated with them."

Trust me I hate it but there's a lot of case law already that gives me no chance in court. My only legal means to fight back, which I've done, is demand that only the dues required for administrative costs are applied and what would go into their coffers is instead donated to a non profit.

-5
luke21 -5 points ago +1 / -6

Unions themselves aren't bad, because unrestrained capitalism leads to terrible abuses of the workers. But the pensions in California are huge. We in the other states should not be expected to bail them out in Cally, Illinois, and NY.

2
MAGA_Master 2 points ago +2 / -0

Capitalism already has a union. It’s called right to work. If you and 50 other people don’t like the job, quit. Boom, that’s union. That’s unity.

-1
luke21 -1 points ago +2 / -3

I live in a right to work state. That's not the answer either. They had to pass a mandatory sick leave bill because business owners were giving no benefits at all to employees. Lincoln freed the slaves, but they had to do it again here.

0
Grief 0 points ago +1 / -1

0
luke21 0 points ago +2 / -2

I don't know what I said that pissed off your royal highness, but go eat some steaming shit.

1
d_lock 1 point ago +1 / -0

Nah, unions are bad. As a former union worker, I was forced to fund political ideas I loathed, and the rest went to reps that worked their hardest to keep the slowest and least competant workers on. Supervisor/worker interactions were nothing but spite-filled, and it was hard to see through that. To this day, I'm surprised UPS still functions.

1
luke21 1 point ago +1 / -0

Not a big fan of them, but in California, the governor is giving tons of monies to illegals. A court just gave him permission to keep doing it. So why should you and I pay to bail him out?

1
d_lock 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'm not saying bail him out, I'm saying unions are a bad way of pretending to care about workers' issues. How did you even get that from my comment? Those two ideas are completely separate.

10

“We don’t see it as a bailout," Murphy said at the meeting. "We see this as a partnership doing the right thing in what is the worst health care crisis in the history of our nation.

It's a fucking bailout and I'm so happy President Trump, Secretary Mnuchin, Senator Mitch McConnell & Republican Senators/Congressmen put a stop to that bullshit.

Another pede here had the idea of making them territories as a condition of getting bailed out. You can't run yourselves properly? You no longer get to. Plus, no federal votes for these blue territories, then. This would destroy the left and their electoral fraud.

The President is correct...I'm from California and my state should not be bailed out..it is the policies that need to change..no sanctuary cities..no free healthcare for illegal aliens, no free education for illegal aliens, no free financial aid for illegal aliens and close the border Newsom!...and now a corona stimulus for all illegal aliens! No need for a bail out just cut the spending!

I'm a NY'er and I agree. I've never voted for Cuomo- maybe now people will see what they've done to themselves.

Democrats ruin everything, California was great now... ruined! No bail out. Tax payers have given them more than enough.

Restaurant workers were making more than $30 an hour in tips in the 1980s under the 'business lunch' tax write off. I hope they bring it back.

It's a shame the President of all people needs to be the one proposing this. It goes up show that 1. Governors don't give a rat's ass what their citizens tell them, and 2. Their legislatures aren't smart or responsible enough to come up with such suggestions themselves.
