most healthcare people do. Some doctors have humility and don't want all the accolades, they just want to help people. The nurses, most have this enormous ego, think way too highly about what they do, and think they're your mother in scrubs. We get it, you deal with stress and nerves all day because of the nature of your job. Go dance at home on your own time if you need to de-stress. Don't post asinine things you did at work on social media then tell us you're "heroes". You're just someone lucky enough to still be able to go to work because some government asshole said you're "Essential"
Nurses can get paid a lot. Particularly ER nurses. They make more than some doctors. Out here in the Bay, they’ll work 10-12 hour shifts for 10-12 days, then get 10-12 days off, and make $120k+ a year with relatively little training compared to someone like a doctor. Another user mentioned knowing one in NY that worked a 12 week contract and made $65k and just fucked off for the rest of the year after. They stayed at work because they were well paid and probably even got more, not out of some act of nobility.
That said, the average nurse or doctor knows nothing more than the average person about the Wuhan Virus, aside from how many people they’re treating and the current state of their hospital or practice. They’re not fucking virologists. They’re not data scientists running simulations and making projections. Making decisions on this right now isn’t their area of expertise. A lot of them are being laid off because the lockdowns killed 40% of business and up in hospitals, and not many people are actually going to the hospital over this because it’s just a bad flu.
This. 100%.
You're there to do a job. You chose the job. Every bit of stress that comes with the job is yours alone to bear. I bear no responsibility for what you go through.
I don't hold up signs telling people to stop copying and pasting from MS Word when they edit content on the CMS I help maintain at my work (although they should, all that fucking hidden formatting shit really fucks things up and then they open tickets to tell us the code we write is fucked up)
I don't tell people to stop breaking things I code when they don't know what they're doing.
I don't need nurses telling me I need to stay home indefinitely for any reason. Virus or not.
no one's condemning ALL NURSES. We're condemning the people who post images like this on social media, join in on-the-job dance troupes and film tiktoks, and lecture and shame us for not wearing masks, not wanting to stay home and saying we're selfish.
The Jackass said what he said.
Too lazy or stupid to realize the implication? Couldn't type "Nurses who do this..."
This site wants to attract more followers. We probably have quite a few fans in the Trump administration. Is this the kind of ugly stupidity we want to represent?
I'm not qualifying my statement. It obviously struck a chord or hit a nerve-- I don't mind saying all. If they don't like the all label, they should tell their colleagues to stop running around like a bunch of fucking martyrs.
You sure are doing a lot of finger wagging, Mrs. Jeb. Lots of people on here don't like to be lectured or scolded for going about their daily business, so why don't you have a nice bowl of guac and enjoy Cinco de Mind-your-own-business-O
Many of them are my clients, and they really have a holier-than-thou attitude. They think they’re experts on COVID. It’s seriously irritating.

Are you me?
I never asked or demanded them to.
Also, would they be there if the hospital told them they’re not getting paid anymore until this is all over and they’re back to normal business again?
You are getting paid and we are not.
They look like total cunts
So brave.
Stayed at work for me?
No, you stayed at work for that sweet paycheck. Cut the drama queen bullshit.
Most of those people are crisis actors.
Fuck em
No shit! They seem like Nurse Ratchet.
Nurse Karen Ratchet
I wish I got paid overtime to make lame-ass tiktok videos.
Maybe their wages should be garnished to pay for those who were forced to stay home?
Yeah, well your attitude of condemning ALL NURSES over the actions of a few is much worse than what these nurses are doing.
