You'll certainly get good range with that bad boy, but is it better than snake-shot? I'd use snake-shot in a .38 revolver for that kind of thing. I only mention it because a single snake-shot round is much cheaper than 10x 22's.
Edit: If you stuck 10x .22 snake-shot rounds in that blunderbuss, however, now that would be something :)
In situations like this, I prefer to think in terms of "in addition to " rather than "instead of".
