I almost got in an argument with my history teacher once for him not recognizing that the war started over states rights violations and not "muh slavery".
Just as it would be ridiculous for the President to run around saying "We've done a fantastic job because we've had fewer deaths than those in the Civil War." Or "Can you believe it...we've lost fewer people to Covid-19 than our casualties in WWI and WWII!" It's all irrelevant.
Imagine if we had Trump for Vietnam.
