Yes I have noticed this too. Downright rude even. Some are stressed out but some just like being in charge. Finally for them the customer is never right, and they act like they are doing us a favor by allowing us to shop.

I have people complaining to meningitis the break room about people not complying with all these rules, saying they should back off and let them work. Me, personally, I dont care. If I wasn't strattled with a 800 dollar fine from my government (Canadian) for obeying the rules, I would just continue about my normal day.
They are likely stressed-out.
Working retail is a shitty gig already. Adding this stuff to it makes it even more annoying.
Show them a little grace and extra kindness. They likely arent getting much from customers or management.

I experienced this at Trader Joe's. It's always a fat nose pierced lady who yells at every male. It's about time we tell them to fuck off.
