How? They were exercising their rights to carry, attempted to be non-violent, were attacked, and then defended themselves. But because they're white and he's black, the media, BLM, and Gun control all smell blood in the water.

As someone who lives in the south, let me let you in on a little secret - assume everyone you meet is carrying, because chances are they probably are. In fact, I'll straight up tell you, you meet me, and I will be.

I agree with you in principle - they're exercising their rights... but holy crap that is a really terrible way to exercise them.

How would you react if two angry white dudes chased you down in their truck (imagine being a black dude in South), yelling at you with a shotgun pointed in your face? Honestly. The dude tried to run on the other side of the car as his last attempt at avoiding confrontation.

I dunno. Here I am defending gun rights to my friends and colleagues... and then idiotic stuff like this happens.

The video does not show the start of the conversation, so we don't know how the two men approached Arbery. They may have been calm and collected, and then Arbery saw the weapon and went for it. As such, this is self-defense, full-stop.

And maybe you should read the second amendment again. "Not to be infringed" means exactly that.

Not sure how you see self defense here when they chased him down with a gun though...

Because you are putting the chasing and the gun as exclusive to each other. They didn't chase him down WITH the gun, they chased him down WHILE HAVING a gun. And as the video clearly shows, Mr. Arbery attacked the two men, including the final attack which led to him being shot.

The DA's statement makes the circumstances clear: https://www.scribd.com/document/460352099/FullAhmaud-Arbery-case-Waycross-District-Attorney-explains-in-letter-why-no-one-was-arrested-in-25-year-old-s-shooting-death#from_embed

"Arbery's mental health records and prior convictions help explain his apparent aggressive nature and his possible thought pattern to attack an armed man."
