I always correct people that argue abortion is health care. I also argued when people said Obamacare was health care. It's not. It's health insurance and it's crappy health insurance at that.

ABC Fake News made the claim today that hundreds of thousands of women will "lose access" to contraceptives if their insurance isn't required to cover it. Because unless someone is mandated to provide contraceptives to you, there is no other way to get them. I fucking hate the misleadia.

The real bullshit is that pharma works with elected officials and the medical community to keep birth control regulated. Non-prescription birth control is over the counter in over 100 countries. ANYONE should be able to walk into a walgreens and buy birth control like a bottle of aspirin.

A teenage girl has to get herself to a clinic to get a painful invasive pap smear and breast exam before she can get a prescription for the pill. She also has to continue to come back for more exams and check ups to continue her prescription. I wonder why teen pregnancy is so high in low income areas?

I agree with needing to see a doctor.

Birth control can cause permanent damage and health issues for some women. Doctors hand it out like candy, but it’s a real drug with real side effects.

Which didn't even address the actual problem (exorbitant costs of medical care). Since then medical costs have vastly outpaced inflation.
