As though they aren't going to lie about it anyway? They have been banging the gong that he "hasn't done enough soon enough" for months now. That's literally what they are trying to get him impeached for right now. So who cares if they try to nail him for Fauci at this point? It's not like it's illegal to fire that guy's ass anyway.
